The relationship of Racquel Chevremont and her ex-fiancée, Mickalene Thomas, has come to light after the former sued Thomas in a $10 million lawsuit.

The Real Housewives of New York City star claimed in her complaint filed in the New York State Supreme Court that Thomas, with whom she continued to partner professionally despite their breakup in 2020, created a “hostile” and “abusive” working environment, sexually harassed Chevremont, and withheld payment from her “for more than a decade,” according to a report in The Independent.

Racquel Chevremont alleged that Thomas sexually harassed her by coercing her to resume their romantic relationship, as per Page Six. Thomas then allegedly terminated her when she refused to.

The two women were recognized as a power couple. The former couple first met in 2002 during Thomas’s artist residency at the Studio Museum in Harlem. During that time, Chevremont worked as a collector and was on the acquisitions committee for the museum.

Here is their relationship timeline.

Racquel Chevremont is a prominent art curator and a model. She was born in Brooklyn and raised in the Bronx. She is a mother of two kids, son Corey and daughter Elle, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Corey Baylor.

She is currently in a relationship with her fiancée, Mel Corpus, who is a forensic neuropsychologist. Her relationship with Mickalene Thomas goes back to 2002, when they met in New York City for the first time.

During that time, Racquel worked as an art collector and member of the acquisitions committee at The Studio Museum in Harlem, while Thomas was the artist in residence at the museum, according to a report in Distractify. They started dating in 2011; during that time, both of the artists were married.

Sparks flew between the former couple while they dined together in Paris during a trip. According to Racquel Chevremont’s interview with TimeOut, she shared that while she was in Paris at that time, Thomas was in Giverny, France, doing a residency at Monet’s estate, and they ended up meeting at the dinner. It was then that they realized their feelings for each other. Chevremont told the outlet:

“Sometimes, [love] might present itself, but you’re too scared because of other things that are going on in your life at that moment. You don’t want to turn your entire life upside down, but sometimes you just have to take that leap.”

After being seven years in the relationship, they became joint partners with the launch of Deux Femmes Noires. The pair got engaged in 2019 when Thomas proposed to Racquel Chevremont on New Year’s Eve. According to a report in Page Six, she said,

“New Year’s Eve, we went out, and afterward we were in our living room and Mickalene came and sat next to me, handed me a box, and asked, ‘will you marry me?'”

However, after years of their whirlwind romance, they broke up in 2020 after a show together at the Hamptons art mecca, the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill. They told Page Six in an officially released statement, which read,

“We ended our long-term personal relationship but remain committed to completing our current projects as Deux Femmes Noires.”

While speaking of her current partner, Mel, the model-turned-art curator told RHONY producers that they have shared their friendship over the period of 12 years. She added that both of them were single when they first got involved in a relationship.
