Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist are engaged!

Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams II, and Mariah Amani Buckles, known professionally as Mariah The Scientist, are now engaged after first being romantically linked to each other in 2021.

The proposal story of the couple is just as wholesome as they are. The rapper proposed to Mariah at his Hometown Hero: Young Thug & Friends - A Benefit Concert at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Tuesday, December 16.

Fan footage from the concert, which has now gone viral, showcases the rapper dropping down on one knee and popping the question. The screen behind them read in all-caps, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" as the audience cheered them on.

After that, the couple kissed and embraced as he slid the ring on her finger. Mariah then told the crow, "Guess I'm getting married!" The moment is that much more special as a few days ago, Buckles said in her interview for Power 105.1,

"I want to be married. Listen, that's my plan. I can't speak for everybody, that's my plan, though. That's what I'm doing."

Also adding how she was ready to settle down and wants at least one kid.

Young Thug and Mariah the Scientist's relationship

The pair were first spotted together in November 2021, right before Thug was eventually arrested on RICO charges. Mariah was supportive of him throughout his time in prison, consistently visiting him. However, even after he was released, their relationship seemed rocky, and there were several breakup rumors.

The next chapter in the couple's life should be full of surprises and milestones, and besides having a child and tying the knot, we can also expect to hear some new music from both artists.
