Which sports teams joined the Dallas Cowboys in honoring Charlie Kirk? White House praises nationwide tributes

Right before the game at the AT&T Stadium began, the Dallas Cowboys took a moment to honor the late Charlie Kirk. However, they were not the only sports team from the NFL to give Kirk a moment of silence. The NFL paid its tribute on Thursday Night Football, and left it up to the rest of the teams if they wished to do the same.

Some of the other NFL teams that joined in paying tribute to the 31-year-old conservative activist include the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, and Arizona Cardinals.

The statement also mentioned the baseball teams that paid their tributes. It reads:

"In baseball, the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees paid tribute. College football teams, such as the South Carolina Gamecocks, LSU Tigers, and the Wyoming Cowboys."

Tributes were also paid by NASCAR and UFC, showing how far his impact reached across the sports world.


White House acknowledges sports teams honoring the late Charlie Kirk

In a news release, the White House addressed those in the sports world who paid their tributes to Charlie Kirk.

The statement reads that the White House:

"recognizes these profound tributes that celebrate Kirk's enduring legacy as a champion for faith and patriotism and honor the remarkable impact he had on millions of Americans."

It concluded with:

"These tributes reflect the widespread admiration for Kirk’s dedication to inspiring the next generation of American Patriots. We commend these organizations for honoring a figure who championed the values that unite us all, and we join the nation in celebrating his legacy."

How is President Donald Trump honoring Charlie Kirk?

While addressing the assassination of Charlie Kirk, President Trump also mentioned that he will be awarding Charlie posthumously the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The date of the ceremony will be announced later on.

Additionally, the President also spoke to reporters and confirmed that he will be present at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona on September 21, for the memorial service for Kirk. He will be joined by Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.


From the NFL to MLB, NASCAR to UFC, tributes have been pouring in for the late Charlie Kirk. The White House also acknowledged the honors, while praising Kirk's legacy and patriotism. Kirk will also be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The date for the ceremony is yet to be announced.
