Andy Hao Tienan, a social media influencer from China, has said that he is the first from his country to achieve hyaluronic acid “8-pack abs.”

According to a report in SCMP, he has claimed to have spent four million yuan (US$560,000) on acid injections to achieve artificial abs. He has claimed that at least 20% of his body is composed of hyaluronic acid. It helps the skin retain moisture and keeps it hydrated, resulting in a youthful appearance.

Hao Tienan aims for a total of 10,000 hyaluronic acid injections to enhance his overall appearance. He has injected 40 doses into his shoulders, chest, abdomen and collarbones.

Andy Hao Tienan is a Chinese influencer popular on Douyin, a social media platform similar to TikTok. He is from Heilongjiang Province. Andy Hao Tienan opens up about taking artificial injections to enhance physique

During an interview with SCMP, Andy Hao Tienan shared his experience of undergoing extensive artificial injections to achieve an eight-pack abs.

He told the outlet that he switched to this method after he failed to achieve his ideal muscular physique through exercise. He said:

“I totally agree that muscles do not grow on cowards. But you have to understand, I have had so many injections. I am no coward any more. Could you dare to do the same?”

He added:

“If my abs have not disappeared in three years, I will apply to Guinness for the longest-lasting artificial abs made of hyaluronic acid record. I will do a live-stream cracking walnuts on my abs for everyone to see.”

So far, Andy Hao Tienan has shared positive reviews about the procedure. Sharing his views five months after undergoing the complete process, he said that he hasn’t experienced any muscle swelling or any clots.

The influencer shared that his abs look more distinct and natural with time. However, medical experts have warned of serious health risks. Li Jialun, an attending doctor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Union Hospital, in Wuhan, Hebei province, central China, said that by injecting hyaluronic acid forty times, there is a higher chance of skin damage. He added it could lead to vascular necrosis.

He added:

“While the muscles may appear realistic when static, their dynamic appearance will inevitably look distorted since all muscles are functional units.”

He also highlighted how a large volume of hyaluronic acid and fillers can erode bones and exert pressure on the muscles, leading to long-term damage.

While Andy Hao Tienan has not revealed many details of the procedure, his actions have sparked a heated debate online. Users noted it as an extreme step for body modification. On the other hand, some called him out for wasting his money.

A user noted that he could have used the huge amount to build a gym in his house and would have hired a nutritionist instead of getting artificial abs. Another user pointed out how he could have used the money to travel the world.
