Jessica Simpson recently opened up about her children’s talents during a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
The I Wanna Love You Forever singer is a mother to her son Ace (12), and daughters Maxwell (13) and Birdie (6), all of whom are passionate about music. She shares them with her former husband, Eric Johnson.

During a chat on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Jessica Simpson said:
“My youngest [Birdie] can belt her brains out. Like, she has got the power and I don't know Megadeth or, like, full on gospel, but she's got the lungs.”
She added:
“Maxwell, my oldest, has, like, perfect pitch. My son has perfect pitch. It's kind of wild when you [hear] them humming along. I'm like, 'Wait, I can't even do that riff.'”
Simpson added that her kids have never seen her perform on stage yet, but they might in the future.

Who are Jessica Simpson’s kids?
Jessica Simpson and her ex-husband, Eric Johnson, share three children: Maxwell Drew, Birdie Mae, and Ace Knute.
The former couple announced their split in January this year after being married for 10 years. Simpson released a statement to People magazine and said:
“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
Simpson and Johnson crossed paths in 2010 through a mutual friend. They tied the knot in July 2014, having dated for four years. Speaking about her husband in 2023, she said:
“A true love will never make you question yourself or what's real. Thanks to my amazing soulmate I am able to love passionately and without fear of being hurt.”
Jessica Simpson gave birth to her first child and daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson, on May 1, 2012. She announced her pregnancy in October 2011 through a Twitter post (now called X). She wrote:
“It’s true – I’m going to be a mummy!”
In June 2025, Simpson shared a photo with Maxwell, who graduated 6th grade. She wrote in the caption:
“Let the good times roll into the 7th grade my beautiful Maxwell Drew.”
Her second child is Ace Knute Johnson, who is a year younger than his eldest sister, Maxwell. He was born on June 30, 2013. In 2021, Simpson shared a post on Twitter (Now X) about him:
“When Ace was in my belly I told everyone and anyone who'd listen that he would dominate a baseball field when he was old enough and would more than likely never ever end up putting the bat down … so far my intuition was correct.”
Simpson and Johnson became parents to their third child, Birdie Mae Johnson, on March 19, 2019. She turned six this year in March.
