John Legend celebrated his 47th birthday with his family on December 28 by visiting the Sloomoo Institute in New York City.

The singer’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, shared an Instagram post in which Legend could be seen slimming with their children – daughters Luna Simone and Esti Maxine, and sons Miles Theodore and Wren Alexander. Among them, Luna is the eldest, followed by Miles, Esti and Wren. The two are 5 months apart.

In the video, they were seen happily enjoying their time at the Institute as they explored different slimes.

Teigen captioned the post –

“One last thing before we leave nyc we love you @sloomooinstitute! Love, Chroostoonoo, Joohn, Loonoo, Mooloos, Oostoo and Wroon.”

Legend’s family outing comes amid a busy holiday season for the musician, following Christmas and a December 20 Disney on Ice show in Los Angeles with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

For John Legend’s 46th birthday in 2024, Teigen posted photos from their London trip to the Bubble Planet Experience. She captioned it with a tribute calling him “the soul of our home.”

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have shared a strong bond since the beginning of their relationship, which gradually evolved into marriage.

They met in September 2006 on the set of his music video for Stereo, where Teigen, then 20, played his love interest. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Teigen said she walked into Legend's dressing room and found him ironing in his underwear, which led to an immediate hug and rapport.

After their shoot, they went to his hotel room for In-N-Out burgers and had a sexual encounter. They dated casually amid his touring and her modelling as they bonded over texts and calls. The couple made their red carpet debut in 2008 at the Grammys and got engaged in 2011 during a Maldives vacation.

They got married in September 2013 in Lake Como, Italy. John Legend told Martha Stewart Weddings:

“One of the first vacations we took together was to Lake Como, so we thought it would be nice to marry where we fell in love.”

Before their Italian wedding, John Legend and his wife tied the knot at a New York City courthouse after Fashion Week shows at Vera Wang on September 10, 2013. Model Irina Shayk served as a witness. Teigen told E! News at that time:

“We are dumb and didn't realize that our Italian wedding would not be recognized unless we had a real ceremony in New York City.”

They proudly welcomed four children, with their eldest, Luna Simone Stephens, being born in April 2016. She is currently nine years old. In an interview with People, Teigen shared that her daughter is a “perfectionist.” She said:

“She is a bit of a perfectionist which I didn't know I was until the past few years. I'm trying to tell her that not everything has to be perfect and there is joy and beauty in imperfections, and don't be so hard on yourself.”

The couple welcomed their eldest son, Miles Theodore in May 2018. He is now seven. After his birth, the couple suffered a miscarriage in September 2020 when they lost their son, Jack, when Teigen was 20 weeks pregnant.

In January 2023, they welcomed their second daughter, Esti Maxine Stephens, through IVF, who is now two years old.

Five months after John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcomed their son, Wren, through their surrogate, Alexandra. They named him Wren Alexandra Stephens. He is also two years old.
