Fetty Wap, real name Willie Junior Maxwell II, made headlines with his early prison release on January 8 after serving about three years of a six-year federal sentence.

According to a report in E! News, the 34-year-old rapper was arrested in October 2021 at Citi Field in Queens, New York, during the Rolling Loud Music Festival on federal drug trafficking charges.

It reportedly claimed that he transported 100 kilograms of drugs from California and distributed them across New York and New Jersey. He ended up pleading guilty to one charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine in August 2022.

Upon his release, Fetty Wap released a statement thanking his family, friends and fans for their love and support. He has been with multiple women over the years and has reportedly fathered six children from five different mothers.

Wap has been married once to Leandra Gonzalez. They tied the knot in 2019 in a low-key ceremony but divorced a year later. She is an Instagram model and an entrepreneur.

Leandra Gonzalez is best known for her short-lived marriage to Fetty Wap. According to the reports, the couple went public with their relationship at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards in Newark, New Jersey. However, they remained low-key about their relationship.

Wap proposed to his then-girlfriend with a $37k diamond ring. At that time, jeweler Eliantte & Co. shared a now-deleted Instagram video congratulating the couple. After their split, she demanded the ring, claiming that she owns it because they went through with the marriage. However, he claimed that he never owned the ring and never paid for it.

Reports stated that Gonzalez is an Instagram model and also the owner of the gift shop, Adorn Irozi, which was named after her mixed heritage. The shop, which was based in New Jersey, specialized in selling long-lasting roses, rose-covered teddy bears and luxury floral gifts. Their New Jersey location appears to have closed some years ago.

Fetty Wap and Leandra Gonzalez took their wedding vows in August 2019 in Toronto. Announcing their marriage, she shared a photo of their marriage license on Instagram, which she captioned

“Mrs. Maxwell.”

Gonzalez filed for divorce from the rapper in March 2020, stating that he is a substance abuser and habitual cheater. She also alleged that he had been physically abusive towards her after a month of being married.

During their divorce proceedings, Gonzalez further claimed that Fetty Wap had been seeing other women and that he was a “serious adulterer.” She alleged that he traveled to the Bahamas on New Year’s Eve with one of his mistresses. About a month before that trip, he reportedly got a tattoo of that woman’s name on his wrist.

Wap denied all the allegations that his former partner leveled against him. Their divorce was reportedly finalized in September 2022.

Since her divorce from the rapper, Gonzalez has maintained a low profile and prefers to stay out of the limelight. They share no children.
