Lina Luaces was crowned Miss Universe Cuba 2025 on July 8, 2025 at Milander Park in Hialeah, Florida.
Luaces was among the 16 young finalists who were selected to compete for the much-anticipated final gala event. With her win Luaces has secured her position to represent her country in the Miss Universe beauty pageant. It is scheduled to be held in November 2025 in Thailand.
As per a report in Ciber Cuba, Luaces was one of the sixteen finalists who competed for the crown. The contestants were evaluated not only on their physical charm but their communication skills, stage presence, leadership and social awareness.
The 22-year-old is the daughter of Cuban-American model and Television host Lily Estefan. Her real name is Lina Luaces Estefan. She auditioned for the Miss Universe Cuba pageant among 20 candidates and stole the spotlight with her big smile. Despite being born in the US, Lina Luaces identifies more with her Cuban roots.

The translated post on the account describes her as a symbol of feminine powers It reads:
“From Santiago de Cuba, Lina Luaces (@linaluaces) rises like a brilliant constellation. She needs no words to reign; her light is enough. Crowned by her character, she is a pure symbol of feminine power.”
She is the daughter of famous Hispanic Television personality, Lili Estefan and businessman Lorenzo Luaces, according to Missosology. She was born in 2002 in Miami, Florida and is a Cuban-American model. She is proud of her Cuban and Lebanese roots, despite being an American. She also has a brother named Lorenzo Jr.
According to Ciber Cuba, during her audition in Miami, she told the judges:
“I am very excited and it is an honor because Cuba is part of my roots. I didn't think twice about it. I've always said I feel more Cuban than American because that's how I grew up, with the values I have and the food I eat.”
She told the judges that she dreams of establishing her own identity. She said that she wanted to stop being called “the daughter of” and make a name for herself. She told the jury:
“I feel that I can make a name for myself.”
The outlet added that she made her debut as a model in 2018. Since then she has walked runways with New York Fashion Week, and worked with designers like Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada.
She belongs to the renowned Estefan family as her mother, Lili Estefan, is the niece of Emilio Estefan, Cuban-American musician and film producer. Lili is best known as the long-time co-host of “El Gordo y La Flaca” on Univision, per Missosology.
Upon her victory, the Instagram account of Miss Universe Cuba 2025 shared a joint congratulatory post along with Luaces and photographer Michel Melian. Their translated post read:

Lili Estefan also shared the news of the victory of her daughter on her Instagram, showing her support for her as always. The mother-daughter duo have been previously spotted on several red carpet events.
