Malika Andrews, the sports journalist and reporter who also hosts NBA Today, NBA Countdown, and the NBA Finals, is married to Dave McMenamin, an ESPN NBA reporter, known especially for covering the Los Angeles Lakers.

The couple had kept their romance private for a long time. Malika had publicly spoken about it in February 2025 on an episode of the Straight to Cam podcast, co-hosted by WNBA standout Cameron Brink and Sydel Curry-Lee.

In the episode, she had said that she and Dave have been together since 2018, dating back to when she worked at The New York Times and he was covering the Cavaliers for ESPN.

Recently, she hosted the NBA Finals, where she reported on the Oklahoma City Thunder's championship win against the Indiana Pacers.

More about Malika Andrews and Dave McMenamin

Earlier this year, in January, Dave took to his Instagram to wish his wife, Malika, for her birthday. He posted a series of pictures to wish and penned the post, saying:

''Happy birthday to @malika_andrews 🎈❤️ You are simply incredible. Here’s to you as you turn the page on another year - and decade. I love you.''

Andrews replied to the post in the comments, saying:

''I usually keep cheesy sentiments off the airwaves but everyone deserves to find a partner that makes them as happy as you make me. I love you, hon.''

Later in March, the couple shared a video on their social media, giving a glimpse of what their wedding day looked like. Their venue and arrangement were such that it had a playful basketball-themed touch, including a seating chart styled like an NBA tournament bracket.

The video was captioned:

''✨ Please be seeded ✨ It’s March Madness, and I haven’t shared a ton from our wedding but in the spirit of the tournament, I thought this would be fun for y’all to see: our seating chart… Or bracket.''

These were the few instances where the couple shared a few moments of their relationship. As per The Sun, they tied the knot back on August 24, 2024, at Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito, California. They had initially met in 2017 and were engaged for about 24 months.

Andrews has quickly risen to become one of ESPN’s top basketball presenters, and she was also named one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 in the sports industry for 2021. Malika is, however, not the only member of her family who is into sports journalism; her younger sister, Kendra Andrews, covers the Golden State Warriors for ESPN.
