Riccardo Tisci is a 50-year-old Italian fashion designer who has worked with fashion houses like Givenchy and Burberry as their creative director.

Tisci has been involved in so many iconic fashion projects throughout his career; he collaborated with perfumer Francois Demachy to create the perfume Le Dahlia Noir and was also the designer of the cover of Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaborative album, “Watch the Throne.”

Tisci was the designer of Rihanna’s Diamond World Tour attire and collaborated with Nike for a new iteration of the Air Force 1 collection. The fashion designer is known to have worked with several celebrated personalities, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Madonna, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, and Kim Kardashian.

However, Riccardo Tisci has made news headlines, not for something positive. On Tuesday, April 9, 2025, the former creative director of Burberry and Givenchy was accused of sexual assault by Patrick Cooper.

More details on Riccardo Tisci's sexual assault allegations

Patrick Cooper filed a lawsuit against Riccardo Tisci for sexual assault. He accused the fashion icon of assaulting him in June 2024. Following the lawsuit, representatives of Tisci have denied the allegation.

“These allegations are categorically untrue. Riccardo looks forward to clearing his name of these false and malicious accusations. He will obtain vindication through due process,” Tisci representatives told People in a statement.

Patrick Cooper stated that the alleged assault occurred during a night out in Manhattan in 2024, where a mutual friend introduced him to Tisci. He claimed that Tisci had allegedly put a drug in his drink without his consent or knowledge while they were both at a restaurant in Harlem called 2 Sisters 4 Brothers.

According to his statement to the Independent, he was “unable to fight, stop or defend himself”, and he was

“so disoriented as to no longer know where he was, what he was doing, or what other people, particularly [Tisci], was doing to him.”

He further claimed that he was taken back to Riccardo’s SoHo apartment, where he was held against his will and assaulted.

“My intentions were never to end up in Riccardo Tisci’s bed. When I woke up, he was kissing me,” he added, describing Tisci's actions as “predatory, sexual and unlawful assault and battery.”

He added that after waking up naked next to Riccardo, he went to the hospital for a rape kit test and then filed a report with NYPD.

He filed a lawsuit against Tisci where he described the incident as an assault and claims battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of New York State’s Gender-Motivated Violence Act. He is also seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
