Why doesn’t Brooks Nader consider returning to Louisiana? Model explains her decision

Brooks Nader, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and star of the reality series Love Thy Nader, has openly stated that she has no intention of moving back to her home state of Louisiana permanently.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Nader explained her stance while reflecting on her small-town upbringing outside of Baton Rouge. She said:

“I would never move back. I love [Louisiana] so much. but I would never move back…Once you go to the city, you can never go back, you know what I mean? Once you get a taste of life there, you just can't reverse.”

The 28-year-old model added that she visits Louisiana frequently for family time and for Louisiana State University football games. Still, she has embraced city life in New York City and Los Angeles. Nader currently resides in New York City with her sisters, Mary Holland, Grace Ann and Sarah Jane.

All about Brooks Nader and her family

Brooks Nader comes from a conservative Louisiana family, which includes her parents, Breaux Nader and Holland Greene Nader, and her sisters, Mary, Grace and Sarah. The couple married in 1995 and celebrated 30 years of their marriage in 2025.

Nader and her three younger siblings grew up in the small southern town of Maringouin, Louisiana. She was born in 1997 and is the eldest of all her siblings. She has described her childhood with her sisters as “chaotic.” The sisters lived on their grandparents’ property in a small, two-bedroom house.

She moved to New York City around 2016-2017 to pursue a career in modelling. After graduating from high school in Baton Rouge in 2015, Nader studied finance at Tulane University.

Brooks Nader gained fame after winning the Sports Illustrated Swim Search in 2019. Her debut paved the way for her to feature in the magazine in the following years, making her a successful cover model.

Nader shares a close bond with her sisters, who are also involved in modelling. In an interview with People magazine in 2023, she shared:

“I'm trying to be a role model to them, they're all models as well, so I gave them a little something to put on their wishlist.”

When Brooks Nader’s career took off, she was joined by her sisters in New York City. The reality TV show Love Thy Nader showed the sisters moving into a shared Soho apartment.

Brooks Nader’s modelling career opened opportunities for her sisters. A report in People stated that she is currently signed with Next Management. Her another sister, Grace Ann is represented by Ford Models. The rest of the sisters, including Sarah Jane and Mary Holland, are reportedly signed with Freedom Models and Ford Models.

The sisters also share a deep bond with their father, Breaux Gardner Nader. Brooks Nader has joked in interviews that he is “turning into a Nader sister.” In an interview with The Daily Front Row, she noted that the sisters are in “constant communication” with him and “if you tell us something... you should bet your bottom dollar that our dad knows.”

Brooks Nader has spoken about her mother’s fierce loyalty and how she has defended her daughter for her choices.
