Ellen DeGeneres moved to the U.K., reportedly in November 2024. However, the talk show host is listing the house for sale, as per the recent reports. Ellen DeGeneres revealed to the Wall Street Journal that she is listing her farmhouse, called Kitesbridge Farm, in the Cotswolds, U.K., for $30 million.
In a statement to the WSJ, Ellen DeGeneres revealed the reason behind listing and moving to a bigger place by saying:
"When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn't live without her horses. We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them."
Ellen and Portia reportedly bought the Kitesbridge Farm for around $20 million, as per People. Last week, in a live conversation with Richard Bacon in the Everyman Theatre in nearby Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Ellen agreed that her decision to move to the U.K. was tied to President Donald Trump.
She further added:
"We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in'," she said. "And we're like, 'We're staying here'."
How large is Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's Kitesbridge Farm in the Cotswolds?
According to the listing uploaded by Sotheby's International Realty, the Kitesbridge Farm, listed by Ellen DeGeneres, is 14,660 square feet. The farmhouse, set on 43 acres, has been renovated over the past year to a high standard.
The listing further offers more details about the farmhouse in the statement:
"The main house unfolds around a central landscaped courtyard, a lovely focal point that brings light and flow to the interiors. A series of generous reception rooms overlook this space, creating a seamless link between indoors and out. Designed for both grand-scale entertaining and relaxing, the layout combines sharp architectural detail with a contemporary eye for volume, proportion and finish."
It further includes a breakfast room and a kitchen, a ground-floor main suite with two dressing rooms and garden access, five additional bedrooms, and a large sitting room. Additionally, an indoor pool, gym, changing facilities, and a separate shed with conversion potential are also added. Other amenities include a bar/club room and a helipad.
The farmhouse also includes a two-bedroom guest cottage that:
"Provides private accommodation for extended family, visiting friends or staff, with its own kitchen and sitting room. There is also a converted granary building with a heated five-car garage, a kitchenette, and, upstairs, an impressive party barn with its own pub, ideal for entertaining on a generous scale."
As per TMZ, to speed up the process of renovation, the couple hired around seventy workers to complete a year-long project in just five months. However, they lived there for only about a month before moving to a bigger home.
