Why did HasanAbi lash out at Ethan Klein, calling him a 'racist'? Complete drama explained

HasanAbi, the online streamer and YouTuber, and Ethan Klein, the host of the H3 podcast, were in a live debate on May 2, 2025, and they had a heated argument. HasanAbi accused Ethan of making racist remarks about Arabs.

The heated discussion sparked when they were discussing the Nakba and the Middle East conflicts. During this discussion, Ethan referenced a statement from Israeli-British historian Avi Shlaim about Jewish Iraqis leaving Iraq because they weren't feeling safe.

Ethan then asked HasanAbi to reply to that statement about Jewish Iraqis leaving Iraq, to which HasanAbi argued that Ethan was generalizing all Arab conflicts. He became furious and replied, saying!

"Because Iraqis are not Palestinians! You f**ing moron! You racist piece of st!"

HasanAbi and Ethan Klein have had beef for quite some time; however, in the recent debate, the tensions between the two grew, which resulted in a heated argument.

While discussing the Nakba movement and other Middle East conflicts, Ethan made a reference statement from Israeli-British historian Avi Shlaim. He said:

''Didn't leave because we were Zionists. We left because we were no longer safe.' Explain to me. And now explain what he [Presumably the statement of Israeli-British historian Avi Shlaim] means by that, 'We did not leave Iraq because we were Zionists, we left because we were no longer safe.''

HasanAbi became furious as he felt that Ethan was comparing and generalizing the Iraqi conflicts with the Israeli carrying out the Nakba. Replying to Ethan, he said:

"Because Iraqis are not Palestinians! You f**king moron! You racist piece of s**t! Because Iraq and the pan-Arabic nationalist movements that arose out of Zionist violence [are] not about Palestinians!

He continued:

''You cannot make this reference... and then you cannot point at Iraqis and Iraqi government's racism during the pan-Arabic nationalist movements as a vindication for why or a comparison of why Israel have to do Nakba. You f**king racist piece of s**t! Do you think all Arabs have one f**king mind? Is that what you think?"

Ethan replied, saying:

"What?! They left. You are out of your mind! Okay, so what about the Jews in Iraq have to do with f**king Israel you bigot?! You are so out of your mind."

Ethan still kept on asking HasanAbi to reply to why the Jewish Iraqis left Iraq, to which HasanAbi replied:

"Of course, there were Iraqi Jews that left Iraq in fear. Because you're a f**king moron. You don't understand that Iraq is not Palestine. That Arabs are not one-minded, that there were numerous Arabic nationalist movements."

The heated argument continued with Ethan saying:

''"Because why? Answer the question! You want to call me racist? Why were Iraqi Jews leaving to go to Israel? That's why they left? They left because I'm a f**king moron? Hasan, you coward! You coward! Answer the question! You're going to call me racist, but you won't answer. Why did the Iraq Jews leave Iraq?''

He continued:

"Because of anti-Semitism! They hated Jewish people, they had nothing to do with Israel! They were forced to leave, they were chased out, they lived there for thousands of years. They had businesses, they had homes, and they were forced to abandon to go to Israel because it's the only f**king place they could!"

This complex historical and political argument between the two went viral on social media; while some expressed their disappointment with Ethan's statements, others thought that HasanAbi's approach was harsh.
