Austin Richard Post, commonly referred to by his professional name, Post Malone, is being sued by his former limousine driver, Larry Deuel. According to exclusive reports from TMZ, Deuel is suing Post and a few others for millions of dollars. Larry Deuel is a teacher and a limousine driver who starred in one of Malone's music videos.
According to Deuel's claims, he has never been paid for his appearance in the music video. He also claimed that Post Malone and another rapper, Tyla Yaweh, reached out to his employer, so Deuel could drive them to the former's ranch to shoot the music video.
Additionally, Larry claimed that while on the ranch, he was asked to join in the music video for Tommy Lee. Both artists assured him that he would be "taken care of" if he did. He understood this to mean that he would be paid for his appearance in the video. However, he has not been paid to date.
On what grounds is Larry Deuel suing Post Malone?
Larry Deuel is going to sue both Post Malone and Tyla Yaweh. He told TMZ that he did not sign any contract or document regarding his image, name, and likeness rights before appearing in the music video. In the lawsuit, he is suing both artists for fraudulent inducement, misappropriation of name and likeness, breach of contract, and more.
Larry can be seen in the 00:39 and 00:42 to 00:47 timestamps of the music video. In the first shot, he is unrolling the red carpet next to the car door. In the next clip, he is opening the limousine door for Tyla to come out of the car. He appeared in a few more clips throughout the music video, standing next to his limo.
TMZ also reported that Deuel is asking for a huge some of money. He is asking for $2.5 million in principal damages and at least $7.5 million in punitive damages.
TMZ has reached out to Post Malone and Tyla Yaweh for statements regarding Larry Deuel's claims, but has not heard back so far.
