TMZ has reported that rapper Tory Lanez has been rushed to the hospital following a stabbing incident in prison. The news outlet reported on May 12, 2025, that The Colour Violet hitmaker was involved in a prison yard stabbing at the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi, where he is being held.
Page Six reported that Lanez was stabbed multiple times in the face. TMZ alleged that following the incident, which took place in the morning, the singer/ rapper was rushed to a nearby hospital in Bakersfield, and his injuries are not life-threatening.
The cause of the stabbing is still unknown. Tory Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion following a dispute in July 2020.
Tory Lanez recently teased a new album from prison
The 32-year-old artist posted a carousel of photos on Instagram on May 8, 2025, looking buff in a white crewneck and grey joggers. He also announced that a new album with a new genre was in the works and would drop in Summer 2025.
His caption read:
“FROM TORY:UPDATE: 2025 .... IYKYK LESS IMPORTANT UPDATE: 2ND ALBUM 100 % RECORDED, MIXED & MASTERED ® NEW ALBUM. NEW GENRE: SLUTTY BASS SUMMER 2025.”
Tory Lanez seems to be involved in a rap beef with PARTYNEXTDOOR. The controversial artist teased a new diss track aimed at the OVO Sound singer on February 28, 2025, after the latter seemingly dissed Lanez in a song on Instagram Live on February 26, 2025.
The song lyrics from PND read:
“F*** what Tory Lanez say, you know the B, I’m running that / I did everything he did, oh he’s just a running man […] You said I sound like Young Thug, you know you sound like me […] One day, you’ll be me.”
The next day, PND went on Instagram to issue an apology to Tory Lanez for the contentious lyrics:
“@torylanez I was told about what you said without hearing your video for myself. You didn’t say anything that I wouldn’t say myself, now that I seen it I was wrong. City is stronger together.”
PND’s apology notwithstanding, Lanez fired back on Instagram by sharing audio of a diss track aimed at the former. He described PND’s apology as insincere:
