The New York-based singer, D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was recently spotted distributing Labubus to his fans during his concert in Minneapolis on September 9, 2025. This sparked mixed reactions from his fans, with the majority wondering why he is not behind bars.

“What a kind gentlemen. He's giving out all his priceless items before going to prison for life.” A user noted.
“The audacity to hand out vibes while the feds handing out subpoenas.” Someone else commented.
“handing out gifts on stage while a corpse sits in the ledger is the kind of double act even herod would blush at.” A person said.
“This is absolutely horrific and tragic. My heart goes out to the victim's family. Hoping for clarity and justice.” Another user wrote.

However, a few others have a different opinion, coming to his defense. Here is what they said:

“because he’s not a suspect, he’s communicating with the cops about the investigation tho.” A person wrote.
“looks like they already communicated with him. already said he is complying with their investigation.” Another replied.
“Why would he be detained when he was clearly on tour? Unless he can teleport he is innocent.” Some other person commented.

Reflecting on the ongoing controversy, a spokesperson for D4vd told NBC Los Angeles,

“D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”

According to a September 9, 2025, report in the New York Post, authorities reported that it will take some time to identify the decomposed body due to its advanced decay. It added that the Tesla which reportedly belonged to D4vd was left abandoned in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, five days ago.
