YouTuber Markiplier hospitalized again, warn viewers of eating habits with latest health update

YouTuber Markiplier has shared another photo of himself lying on a hospital bed. On August 23, 2025, he posted a picture of himself in hospital garb. Markiplier, 36, gave a thumbs up in his Instagram post and managed a small smile.

The online personality also seemed to reveal the cause of his hospital visit whilst advising his followers to chew their food:

“Chew your food, boys and goils.”

Markiplier’s hospital visit comes after he announced on Instagram on May 15, 2025, that the horror film The Edge of Sleep, which he starred in, is now available for streaming on Tubi.

Markiplier, real name Mark Fischbach, has a history of frequent hospital visits, with several of them being for abdominal issues. The first visit was before his Internet fame, and the second occurred in late 2020 and resulted in an overnight stay. Markiplier kept fans updated throughout the ordeal:

"Hey gang, don’t want to worry you, but I had to take a quick trip to the hospital. Some intense abdominal pain, but nothing life-threatening. Hopefully will be out of here in no time.”

Markiplier later revealed that the idea to make YouTube videos came to him while he was recovering from the removal of his adrenal gland due to a tumor.

Over time, the YouTuber has documented his hospital visits and has earned a reputation for being a frequent guest at the hospital. In July 2023, Markiplier posted a picture of himself with bloodshot eyes.

He followed with a cryptic tweet about his condition, saying, “You'll never guess what I got for my birthday." The photograph immediately alarmed Fans and followers, but the YouTube star later explained that he checked into the hospital to treat his inflamed eyes.

Markiplier revealed that his eyes turned red while he was shooting a horror movie scene with a lot of blood:

“It turns out that sometimes if you go too deep in the blood, this’ll happen, and you gotta go to the doctor to make sure your eyes aren’t melting out of your face.”

The content creator’s eyes went back to normal after a while.
