1) Good Boy is Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun's first K-drama together
While some of you might not believe this, Prime Video's latest K-drama is actually Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun's first project together.
The couple first appeared together as MCs for a KBS awards show in 2015, where one of their clips went viral, and fans have since been wanting to see them together.
Park Bo-gum took this opportunity to approach Kim So-hyun for a future project and believed that the actress would do justice to the character, and she agreed.
One of the most exciting parts about the K-drama is Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun's fresh pairing, and you should definitely check out Good Boy for the couple's swoony on-screen romance.
2) Good Boy is the perfect balance of comedy and action
While most crime thrillers are usually very intense, the K-drama has its comedic and fun moments because the people seeking justice are also new to their respective roles.
The unusual team of former gold medalists turned police officers will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions, serving everything in one. During the press release, director Shim Na-yeon discussed the tone of this latest K-drama:
“Regarding the tone of the series, it’s approachable with comedic and dramatic elements, it’s an easy watch. We made the series so that people could approach it comfortably and have fun watching it. I hope it will be a fun part of your weekend.”
Since the show releases weekly episodes, the K-drama is a good night or weekend binge, perfect for light viewing.
3) The cast received actual training, which makes the K-drama authentic
While Park Bo-gum has starred in many K-dramas in his career, Good Boy marks the first show in the action genre for the actor, and he received real training for the sport.
All the cast members received real training before shooting for the K-drama, which gives it an authentic feel.
In an interview with a Korean media outlet, Park Bo-gum revealed how he received six months of boxing training to prepare for his role:
“As an ex-boxer, I have to train for six months, two hours each a day and also I have to do weight training as well.''
Sharing her experience, Kim So-hyun added:
"I also trained for six months. I tried my best to follow the coaches' instructions as closely as possible, since they were all former athletes themselves. I wanted to practice accurately so that I could score accurately. I thought that this would help me develop natural posture...''
The cast's efforts to portray their characters as faithfully as possible are clearly visible, which adds to another reason to check it out on Prime Video.
