Stranger Things Season 5 is less than a month away, and Netflix has finally released the official trailer, which has given us a lot of hints about the upcoming season. Season 1 of the show introduced us to the Upside Down, and since then, creatures of that universe have been tormenting Hawkins and its people, especially the crew that includes Eleven, Will, Dustin, Max, Lucas, Mike, Nancy, Jonathan, Steve, and Robin.

In Stranger Things Season 5, the crew will face Vecna for the last time, with the intention of killing him. But the path wouldn't be so easy, and the crew isn't how they were before. There are subtle easter eggs in the show that the trailer gave us a sneak peek into. Here are five you might have missed.

5 easter eggs you might have missed in the Stranger Things Season 5 trailer

A lot is going to happen in Stranger Things Season 5, but some things were not said out loud in the Season 5 trailer. While the trailer was very clear about how Vecna has some big plans and the crew is going to attack and defeat Vecna, some details were more subtle.

Here are 5 easter eggs you might have missed:

Dustin is wearing a Hellfire Club shirt

Dustin shared a deep bond with Eddie Munson, who unfortunately passed away last season. He will not be seen in Stranger Things Season 5, but his memory and legacy will live on through the crew and their efforts to make Hawkins safer. The Season 5 trailer showed us that Dustin will be honoring Eddie, who was the leader of Hawkins High School's Dungeons & Dragons club, by wearing a Hellfire Club shirt.

Vecna has a new base

The Creel house has been an important place for Vecna, as we have seen in the last season. One would expect the Creel House of the Upside Down to be his base, where he plots and plans. However, the Stranger Things Season 5 Trailer revealed that the Upside Down version of Hawkins town hall is Vecna's new base. This is not just a random change but a significant one, as the trailer later shows how Vecna plans on destroying Hawkins completely and then the rest of the world.

Dr. Kay: antagonist or not?

Dr. Kay is a new character whom we will see in Stranger Things Season 5. Played by Linda Hamilton, Dr. Kay is a government agent, and since we know the government is looking for Eleven again, Dr. Kay is on a mission to find her. However, she might not be all bad. In a conversation with Empire Online, the Duffer Brothers explained her to be,

"hyper-intelligent and intimidating"

They also said,

“She’s a scientist but if she needs to, she can get into a fight and shoot a gun,”

We see Dr. Kay with a gun in the trailer, but she seems to be hunting something far more terrifying than Eleven. While Dr. Kay is looking for Eleven, she will also fight the horrors of the Upside Down and might just not be a typical antagonist.

Hawkins Lab will play a bigger role

The Hawkins Lab has been a very important location of the show, given how Eleven, Henry Creel, and many others were tortured there by Dr. Brenner for years. Besides, it is the Hawkins Lab where the first portal to the Upside Down had opened up. We did not get to see much of the lab in Season 4, but Stranger Things Season 5's trailer indicates that the lab will be an important location in the upcoming season. The Hawkins Lab is seen to emit a force field, and while we don't know what that field is or its significance, it will likely play a large role in Season 5.

Will's full circle

The show began with Will Byers getting kidnapped and being taken to the Upside Down. Season 5's trailer revealed that Vecna is going to need Will again, for the last time. In the trailer, we see Vecna saying,

"Will. You're going to help me. One. Last. Time."

Will was rescued from the Upside Down at the end of Season 1, but the experience of being trapped has haunted him since. It seems that Vecna isn't done and will continue to use Will to execute his final plan for Hawkins.
