The Eternaut

The Eternaut premiered on April 30, 2025, and is set in Buenos Aires under a deadly, surreal, alien snowfall. The plot revolves around the snowfall that has left several people killed coming into contact with it. The few who were alive had to hide themselves under enclosed structures, going out only with masks for essentials. When a father can't find her daughter, he journeys into the deadly environment to find her and the truth behind the catastrophe.

Though he finds his daughter by the end, he realises aliens are taking her away and her mind is under their control, suggesting a dark turn.

Murderbot

Based on Martha Wells’ beloved series, Murderbot on Apple TV+, follows a socially awkward, genderless android with a penchant for binge-watching space operas. If you are someone who likes to explore AI-related narratives, this show is perfect for you.

Despite being laid-back, Murderbot is often dragged into missions to save humans, usually naïve, kind, or quirky scientists. While it saves them (often reluctantly), it also begins to learn about emotions, trust, and the importance of relationships.

Severance Season 2

Severance is really the crown jewel of modern sci-fi television. The show features a chilling premise and introduces the concept of an "innie" and an "outie" self of a person. The idea portrays how half of our lives are spent in endless work with no freedom, and only half of who we actually are.

The story takes a turn when employees who have been severed start to become aware of the company's wrongdoings and attempt to reach out to their former selves. Mark realises that his wife, whom he believed was dead, is working with him in the office, but his innie Mark has no memory of his wife, while the Outie Mark thinks she is dead.

Andor

Unlike most Star Wars entries, Andor is praised for its unique treatment, reduced use of lightsabers and the Force, and its more realistic portrayal of rebellion, espionage, and systemic oppression. It keeps up the rebellious soul against the bureaucratic cruelty of the empire that crushes people every day. This is what makes Andor different and makes it seem more real within the Star Wars world.

Alien: Earth

This is an FX/Hulu sci-fi show that serves as a prequel to Ridley Scott's film Alien. It provides us with insight into the reasons behind the crash on Earth, two years before the events of the original movie. It showcases how humans thrived when an alien life form crashed on Earth, leading to some mind-bending and horrific situations.

This sci-fi show blends some body horror by portraying alien and human hybrids, more over it comments on human greed that still wants to focus on profitability, exploiting alien biology.
