Do yourself a favor, and add a sci-fi flavor to your list of TV series you are planning to watch this Christmas. There is a range of them that you can even binge-watch in a day. One of them isn't exactly a mini-series, but it is ongoing, so you can count that in if another season is coming, that'll prepare you for what's to come.
Maybe you want something easy to absorb. Maybe a comic rom-com flick like Punch-Drunk Love (2002) or an action thriller like Die Hard (1988), which happens to be the fan-favorite film to watch during this time.
However, we can tell you that sci-fi, too, happens to be easily absorbing. It is up to you if you want to dive deeper into the concept, because there are so many interesting things that you can't stop thinking about. For example, if you watch a movie like Tenet (2020), you can't simply ignore the "temporal" pincer moment, which is something I looked up on Google the moment the film ended.
So, here we go. Let's see what you can watch on Christmas.
Sci-fi shows to watch this Christmas

5. The Triangle (2005)
The Bermuda Triangle has been a topic of interest for quite some time across the globe. To this date, several incidents have happened, and scientists only have theories as to what happens in the region, which is also given the name of the 'Devil's Triangle' due to the strange occurrences that have transpired there. Maybe you can take a closer look at it this Christmas with this mini series starring Sam Neil.
4. Devs (2020)
First reason to watch Devs is that it is directed by Civil War (2024) and Warfare (2025) director Alex Garland. However, don't expect the realistic combat like it is in the movies. But do expect how the mystery is developed realistically. The mystery revolves around the death of a person who died on the first day of his job.
3. Bodies (2023)
If mysteries surrounding dead bodies don't give you the creeps around Christmas, then here's another one. What's happening here? There is one dead body at four different times. Well, eras, if you would, because it appears in the years 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053.
2. 11.22.63 (2016)
Remember the date? That is when the assassination of John F. Kennedy happened. The premise of this sci-fi show stars James Franco, Chris Cooper, Josh Duhamel, and more. It is about time travel, where people are trying to stop the assassination of the 35th President of the United States.
1. Pluribus (2025)
Finally, we want to end the list with the currently ongoing science fiction series on Apple TV, Pluribus. Think about this: What if the entire world dedicates itself to making you happy? Sounds like fun, right? But wait, when you see the show and how Rhea Seehorn's Carol Sturka is freaking out since all of this started to happen. The final episode is dropping just a day before Christmas, so make sure you watch it all.
