Now that the company has gotten a clearer understanding of all the cast members who will be returning for season 3, HBO’s Euphoria is preparing to launch new content for season 3. After a lengthy delay, Euphoria's production has finally moved forward into episode 3, and at the same time, cast members have moved along with the production after experiencing life changes.Many aspects of the show have remained largely unknown to most viewers. However, there have been many public comments made by cast members, agents, and reports published, all revealing information about the characters that will not be seen again in upcoming episodes of the television series.Angus Cloud and Javon Walton will not return for Euphoria Season 3The most heartbreaking absence comes from Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, a gentle but street-wise friend of Rue's. Cloud died in July 2023 at age 25. His death was sudden and tragic, and it meant he could not return to film Season 3. His character was shown in danger at the end of Season 2, but there is no returning role for him in the new season.Javon "Wanna" Walton, who played young drug dealer Ashtray, will also not be in Season 3. Ashtray's story in the finale of Season 2 ended with him being shot during a police raid. Walton has said in interviews that he is not returning, and the show will move forward without the character.These two exits are very final. One is due to Cloud's death, and the other is because the character's story has already come to a close.Barbie Ferreira, Storm Reid, Algee Smith, and Austin Abrams are out for the new season of EuphoriaBarbie Ferreira was the first actress from Euphoria to confirm that she would not be returning. Around the same time, other sources stated specific reasons why she decided to leave the show; however, Barbie has been very respectful toward the way she experienced her time on the set.Another actress, Storm Reid, who plays Zendaya’s sister Gia Bennett, is also not returning. Storm has been building up her resume over the last couple of years as she is one of the leads in The Last of Us, plus quite a few large film-going projects. The storyline Smith had developed for his character doesn't align with the current direction of season 3. Since his appearance on the previous season, Algee has appeared in projects such as Shooting Stars and Mother/Android.The other actor confirmed not returning to the show is Austin Abrams (played by Ethan). Abrams had a strong performance in season 2 during Lexi's school play, but sources in the industry say he won't be a part of season 3. Like Smith, Abrams also has future film opportunities lined up, which means there is currently no role for him in season 3.With the exit of these six actors, there will be significant momentum on the Euphoria season 3 cast list moving forward, as the majority will consist of current leads once again, along with additional new talent added to season 3.A changing season aheadHBO has announced that despite the departure of some cast members from the show, many from Euphoria's existing cast will return, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Alexa Demie, and others.
