Jennifer Love Hewitt appeared on the show in season two as Maddie, Buck's sister, and a 911 operator. Ryan Guzman plays Eddie, a fireman and single father, while Gavin McHugh portrays his kid Christopher.

Earlier seasons had Connie Britton as a 911 operator and Rockmond Dunbar as Athena's ex-husband, and the entire cast works effectively together, bringing the action, drama, and emotions of first responders to life.
