FBI: International ended with the finale episode of season 4, as CBS canceled the procedural drama in March, resulting in the season finale being the series finale. The decision ended the show with many cliffhangers and loose ends that still need to be tied but, unfortunately, will be left.
In the finale episode of FBI: International, Jesse Lee Soffer’s Wes Mitchell had to go solo and solve a case in Tokyo, Japan, without his Fly team, as they were in Budapest, providing intel to Wes to catch a murderer. Although Wes successfully solves the case with the help of his team in Budapest and a little help in Tokyo, the finale still leaves so many questions, such as the fate of individual members, promotions, and relationships, among others, unanswered.
Here’s a list of 9 burning questions that FBI: International still needed to answer but couldn’t.

9 burning questions that still need answers after FBI: International Season 4 Finale
9) Andre and Cameron’s promotion

One of the biggest questions that needed to be answered was who among Andre (Carter Redwood) and Cameron (Vinessa Vidotto) got the GS-14 position. While the ongoing chaos of solving a murder case and helping Wes in Japan, these two members were left in an uncertain situation.
It was shown that both were waiting for the announcement of who would get the promotion while holding hands during the video call. However, who actually got the promotion was not revealed, leaving both fates hanging at the end.
8) Reiko’s fate

Yoriko Haraguchi’s Reiko Isokawa, the local police, became Wes’s counterpart in solving the case of finding Heather, an American woman who disappeared without a trace. While solving the case and catching the cab driver, Lloyd Acuff, the two broke several rules to gain evidence, which resulted in Reiko being demoted.
In the end, she shares with Wes about her job situation, and Wes tells her not to give up and to keep fighting. The end makes us think about what would have happened to Reiko after that. Would she become a part of the Fly team, or was that her harsh fate? We might never find out about Reiko’s fate as it is left inconclusive in the finale.
7) Where was Megan?

Eva-Jane Willis’s Megan ‘Smitty’ Garretson was the team’s liaison in FBI: International. Joined in season 2, we have seen Smitty help out the Fly team even without being a part of it.
With this season exploring more about the Europol Agent, the finale barely included Megan and left us guessing where one of the most important characters of the procedural drama was at the end of the series.
6) Wes and Delilah's story remained a cliffhanger

Wes joined as the head of the International Fly team in season 4 and led the team in this action-packed season. In the finale, we saw Wes solving a case about a missing American woman and catching a serial killer with his team’s help from Budapest while in Japan.
The episode ended with Wes leaving for Pittsburgh and not Budapest to meet his sister, Delilah, for the first time. The series finale of FBI: International ends with Wes in Pittsburgh, leaving us uncertain how his first meeting with his sister will turn out and whether he will return to Budapest or stay there. These questions, if answered, would have tied so many loose ends but were left unanswered in the end as the storyline only got to the last minute in the finale, leaving no room to give us a proper conclusion.
5) Wes and Amanda’s relationship status
Amanda and Wes’ relationship was a new development, but in the end, the status was in question. Amanda helped Wes in tracking Lloyd’s online activities, which resulted in Wes and Reiko finding a woman who had survived the attack by their killer.
This crucial evidence helped them build a case against Lloyd and prove him the culprit. However, with little to no personal interaction between the duo, we were unable to find out if they were still together or dwindled gradually, and we might not find out as FBI: International is canceled.
4) Ended with cliffhangers, hinting at potential storylines

The many cliffhangers in the finale, such as Wes going to Pittsburgh or Cameron and Andre’s promotion, hinted at a potential next season rather than a series finale. Wes’s conflicts about being in Pittsburgh or joining his team in Budapest, Cameron and Andre’s promotion, the aftermath of the announcement, or Smitty’s absence, needed to be answered.
The finale of season 4 of FBI: International left us with questions that might never be answered or become part of a compelling narrative, adding to the storyline as the fate of all the characters is left on these unresolved ends.
3) Fly team’s incharge in the finale
While the team coordinated with Wes in solving the case in Japan, no stand-in leader was referenced in the finale of FBI: International.
As Wes went to Pittsburgh in the last minute of the episode with his story left uncertain if he would return, the finale could have hinted at who would lead the team in his absence but left the question in the air.
2) The Fly team’s fate

As it was the finale of FBI: International, it would have been great if the whole team had solved one last case together, not just Wes alone. Besides, many missed opportunities left several questions about the International Fly team’s future.
Rather than giving a coherent narrative of where the show is ending, the characters at the end left questions. Will Wess join the team in Budapest, or whether Andre or Cameron leave the job after it is revealed who got the promotion? Furthermore, Megan’s absence also left us wondering where the Fly team would go after this.
1) Will we see the team again?
Both FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted have been canceled, leaving FBI the only show in the franchise to be renewed. This means that the cliffhangers and burning questions might be left as they are.
However, cameos from the Fly team in the FBI or the new show FBI: CIA to complete their storylines might be a welcome decision by the makers. But there is no official update, and hence, the endings shown in the finale might be the last time we see the Fly team.
