Eric Rosenbrook and Leida Margaretha have been one of 90 Day Fiancé’s most controversial couples since their Season 6 debut in 2018. Their relationship kicked off when Leida moved from Indonesia to Wisconsin on a K-1 visa to marry Eric, a divorced dad of three kids. Red flags, such as an 11-year age gap and tension that’s hard to miss with Eric's daughter Tasha, were immediately noticed.

Financial difficulties, legal issues, and several breakups and reconciliations have all been part of their tumultuous marriage since 90 Day Fiancé. Things heated up further after Eric was imprisoned on July 4, 2025, for allegedly striking Leida during a brawl outside their home.

Leida reportedly forbade Eric from holding their child because he was intoxicated, he got violent, confessed, and is currently facing misdemeanor charges of violence and disorderly conduct. He is currently prohibited from drinking and from getting in touch with Leida due to a restraining order.

In February 2024, the couple also filed for divorce, but they decided to back out a few days later. It's another tumultuous phase in a relationship that hasn't been easy.

The 90 Day Fiancé couple's problems began almost immediately after Leida's arrival in America. Family dynamics proved particularly challenging as Leida clashed with Eric's children, especially his daughter Tasha. The relationship between Eric and Leida has never been easy, and it took a major turn for the worse when Leida evicted Eric's teenage daughter from their house, causing a gap in the family that never really went away.

Allegations of domestic abuse in January 2019 caused their first significant crisis. Leaked messages between Leida and a friend suggested something serious, and she allegedly threatened to hurt herself during a furious argument. The drama was already public, but both later claimed they were hacked.

Nevertheless, they made amends and even purchased a home in 2020 in an effort to move on. However, in October 2023, Leida was arrested for forgery, fraud, and theft, which led to further issues. She was accused of making shady withdrawals while working at Loggerhead Deco, a bottle decorating company. Several victims reported thousands missing from their accounts.

Then, in February 2024, Leida filed for divorce, but they called it off just eight days later. She soon returned to Instagram, posting date-night videos and Valentine’s Day vibes with Eric.

But the peace didn’t last. On July 4, 2025, Eric was arrested for allegedly assaulting Leida during a fight at home.

According to police reports, Leida found Eric passed out in his car outside their residence.

When she refused to let him hold their infant daughter due to his intoxication, Eric allegedly slapped her. He admitted to the assault during police questioning and confirmed they had separated following the incident.

Leida said that Eric had been physically violent during their marriage and informed police that this was not an isolated incident. On July 7, 2025, a temporary restraining order was issued, with stringent requirements such as avoiding contact with Leida and being barred from drinking or going to bars.

What lies up ahead for the duo?

90 Day Fiancé's Eric is still being watched by the court after entering a not guilty plea to both misdemeanor accusations. Until the court makes changes or Leida withdraws them, the terms of the restraining order will stay in effect.

The relationship between Eric and Leida has been a wild one filled with fights, cosmetics, and more drama. They have handled everything from serious accusations of domestic violence to financial problems and family conflicts throughout the years.

Their story serves as an excellent illustration of how difficult foreign relationships can be, particularly when they are depicted on reality television. Off-camera, the repercussions are extremely real, but 90 Day Fiancé viewers at home see the stressful times and yelling confrontations. We're discussing emotional strain, legal issues, and a lot of other chaos that is too big for a one-hour show.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on TLC and streams the same day on Max and Discovery+.
