90 Day: Hunt for Love has taken a dramatic turn with Colt Johnson being rushed away in an ambulance following a severe leg injury. The spin-off series, known for its high-stakes romance in a tropical setting, now finds itself navigating a medical crisis. Viewers saw the featured cast members visibly shaken, some in tears, and concerned over an unseen emergency.
The chaotic aftermath of the incident saw fellow cast members huddled in concern while the medical team transported Colt. The moment comes just as Colt's connection with castmate Cortney Reardanz appeared to be progressing.
Unfortunately, the incident re-aggravated an earlier leg injury that had previously led to multiple surgeries. Blogger Shabooty reported that the leg Colt injured was the same one from his 2022 accident, and that the damage was extensive enough to raise fears about possible amputation.
What led to Colt Johnson’s ambulance emergency on 90 Day: Hunt for Love
The 90 Day: Hunt for Love cast responded emotionally, with visible crying and concern. The nature of the show, with its tropical location and social setting, often includes physical activities and a party atmosphere.
Ozempic, a medication Colt reportedly used for weight loss, could have contributed to bone density loss. This is supported by a 2024 study published in the JAMA Network, which linked medications like Ozempic to an increased risk of bone fragility.
It appears as though he was already battling a leg infection, and this latest injury may have been caused by dance moves at the party, according to Distractify.
Despite the severity of the moment on 90 Day: Hunt for Love, more recent updates from Colt suggest that he is recovering. He has not released a direct public statement regarding the most recent injury. Photos and videos posted to Instagram in April 2025 show him walking without assistance during a trip to Café Ciel in British Columbia.
90 Day: Hunt for Love star Colt Johnson’s past leg injuries and recovery setbacks
Colt Johnson’s injury history dates back to December 2022, when he was first hospitalized following a trampoline accident while filming 90 Day: The Last Resort. In January 2023, Vanessa Guerra, then his wife, posted a photo of him in a hospital bed and explained that he had been there for two weeks with a broken leg and torn meniscus.
She said Colt had already undergone three surgeries and had become wheelchair-bound. Vanessa noted:
“He’s actually more independent now than before he broke his leg.”
She also confirmed that the recovery would take six to eight months. She also stated that Colt’s bladder had stopped functioning due to medication-related side effects and that he was using a catheter.
In September 2023, Vanessa confirmed they were filming The Last Resort in Reno when the accident occurred. She said that Colt was meant to travel to Florida for filming, but the injury prevented that, and Molly Hopkins and Kelly Brown were brought in as replacements.
As recovery continued into late 2023, Guerra disclosed that Colt needed a fourth surgery and eventually a fifth, due to complications. Both Colt and Vanessa announced their departure from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise at that time.
Vanessa also cited emotional strain and left Colt in early 2024, saying she no longer loved him. Colt was later spotted on a dating app, leading fans to speculate about cheating.
90 Day: Hunt for Love airs every Sunday at 8 pm EDT on TLC.
