Charles gets a taste of another "juicy" case in A Man on the Inside Season 2 Episode 1
A Man on the Inside Season 2, episode 1 begins with Charles in a bar investigating a case. This case is not something that would be intriguing to Charles. In this case, he was hired by a woman to check on her husband to see if he was cheating. Charles, with his investigative skills, caught him red-handed. Charles then discloses the truth to the man.
The man tries to bribe him. However, Charles tells him that private investigators like him follow a strict code. The scene cuts to Charles and Julie discussing the nine cases that they had, all with the same issue of cheating. Charles then tells her that he wants a “juicy case” like Pacific View. Right then, a client walks in.
This client, Jack Berenger, the president of Wheeler College, walks in along with another woman named Holly Bodgemark, who is the provost. They arrive with the case of a stolen laptop. Charles is intrigued right away when he hears that this laptop is worth 400 million dollars.
They begin discussing the case. It is revealed that right from the time Jack arrived at the college, he tried to get the richest graduate of the college to make a donation. Their richest graduate, Brad Vinick, pledged to donate 400 million to keep the college afloat. They even shook hands on the terms the previous night. However, in the morning, he found out that the laptop had been stolen.
Jack Berenger then received an email from somebody called “Wheeler Guardian” writing that if he took money from Brad Vinick, his secrets would be spilled. Charles jumps right into the case, saying that it is an inside job. He even adds that every single faculty member could be a suspect. So, Jack Berenger needs to get someone from outside the college to go undercover and investigate. Charles volunteers to do the job.
This episode of A Man on the Inside Season 2, continues with Charles going to the college to investigate. He gets the list of the people present on the campus the night the laptop was stolen from Holly Bodgermark. Charles and Jules then ask to check the camera footage; however, Holly tells them that they cannot afford to get the cameras fixed, so they do not work.
On the other hand, Jules goes to take a different case about background checks. During the weekly reports to Jules, Charles says that he met with some of the suspects of the case. One of them was Andrea Yi, professor of economics; however, he thinks she is not a suspect.
Next, he talked to Max Griffin, the assistant professor of journalism. Besides them, he met with many other suspects, but none of them seemed to be suspects in the case. Charles then talks about Dr. Benjamin Cole, head of the English department. He thinks he might be involved in the case.
At the welcome party of Brad Vinick in A Man on the Inside Season 2, Episode 1, Charles comes across Mona Margadoff, professor of music theory. They quickly form a deep connection after their conversation about Vinick. Soon, Charles begins to investigate the people at the party with his stark observation skills. Mona arrives and takes Charles around the campus.
They spend quality time together. It can be understood that their bond is definitely an intriguing part of this episode of A Man on the Inside Season 2. Back at the party, things get complicated when Vinick’s picture gets stolen. It is found burning outside the campus, setting the stage for a grim turn of events.
