He explained that the episode came close to being made many years ago. Gatiss said it was“on the verge of production for a while in the late 2000s,”but it never made it to filming. He also revealed that Big Finish, known for its Doctor Who audio dramas, had shown interest in adapting it. It's rather good, I think.”The idea of an adventure-style episode starring Tennant will likely draw attention, especially during a time when the show is looking for stability. While this possible Doctor Who project is still uncertain, a spin-off show has been confirmed. The main series is not expected back until Christmas 2026, but a new spin-off, The War Between the Land, will launch much sooner next month in the UK and in 2026 on Disney+.
