A Suicide Squad member is making a comeback in Peacemaker Season 2

James Gunn's Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on HBO and Max in August 2025, and first-look images were recently unveiled for the show.

"Peacemaker explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of James Gunn’s 2021 film The Suicide Squad—a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it."

These images reveal that a fan-favorite Suicide Squad member is making their comeback in Season 2 of the James Gunn sequel, Peacemaker. It was assumed that Michael Rooker, who played Savant in Suicide Squad, would reprise this role, even though Savant was killed the last time we saw him. However, it turns out Michael Rooker is all set to appear on Peacemaker Season 2 as a brand-new character, Red St. Wild. Here's everything we know about this comeback.

Michael Rooker is coming back to Peacemaker Season 2, but he's not Savant anymore

Michael Rooker being a part of a James Gunn project is not a surprise, since he has been a part of almost every project, be it movie, or TV series, by James Gunn (voicing minor characters in the ones that he wasn't starring in). However, his character Savant was definitely killed off, so it was a surprise that he'd be making a comeback in Season 2 of Peacemaker.

It turns out, though, that he's not appearing as Savant in Peacemaker Season 2 but as an entirely new character, Red St. Wild, a nemesis for Eagly. In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Gunn describes Rooker's character as:

"His name is Red St. Wild, and he's the world's foremost eagle hunter who is on a mission to kill Eagly. We thought Eagly was probably the most popular character from season 1, and so in season 2, he has his own story with his nemesis, played by none other than the despicable Michael Rooker."

John Cena, Freddie Stroma, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Frank Grillo, Steve Agee, Sol Rodriguez, and David Denman are all set to appear in the second season of Peacemaker. Additionally, Tim Meadows is set to appear on Peacemaker Season 2 as Langston Fleury, an A.R.G.U.S. agent. Gunn revealed that Fleury would be picking up much of Peacemaker's obnoxiousness and aggressiveness:

"In a lot of ways, Peacemaker has changed a lot this season. He's a much softer guy, he's a much nicer guy, he's less in your face and less obnoxious and less aggressive. He has changed as a human being, so Langston Fleury actually takes up a lot of being a total a**hole in the same way Peacemaker was [last season]. He's a very politically incorrect a**hole throughout most of the season, and also an incredibly funny guy."

It is going to be incredibly exciting to witness these characters come to life in Peacemaker Season 2.
