"A toxic cycle": Selling Sunset star Chrishell reveals why she distanced herself from Emma's on-and-off romance with Blake

Selling Sunset Season 9 Reunion aired on November 5, 2025. There were multiple arguments, confrontations, and walk-outs during the reunion.

One of the conversations featured in the reunion was between Chrishell and Emma. Fans might already know that the two used to be best friends. However, in light of recent events involving Emma's on-and-off boyfriend, their friendship had not been the same.

The host asked Chrishell to share her issues and opinions about Blake. She recalled Emma going through breakups and listening to her going through intense situations. She didn't want Emma to go through such things again and again:

"A lot of things that I have an issue with him about aren't even covered on the show. I was there to help pick her up when they would break up, and I would hear all of those horrible things. Horrific things. And you never want your friend to go back to that, of course."

Chrishell added:

"But what I can do is extract myself from a situation that is a toxic cycle of picking your friend up, and then they get back together with him, and then they ghost you and won't respond to you at all, and just the back and forth, the lies, and all the things, it's a lot."

The latest Selling Sunset Season 9 Reunion revealed many events, clash between fellow cast members, and also a few of them getting into heated exchanges.

One of the conversations covered during the reunion was about Emma and her on-and-off boyfriend, Blake. She recalled the times when she hadn't been in touch with Blake for a couple of months.

"Completely ghost. And in that moment, I genuinely feel like I'll never speak to him again. I've said it to my whole family, to all my friends, and then they'll see that I'm with him or something," shared Emma.

Soon, the host turned to Chrishell and asked her about her issue with Blake. He also asked if her opinions had softened over time.

Responding to the question, Selling Sunset star Chrishell recalled Emma's breakups with Blake. After the breakup, she would learn about the horrible things that Emma had faced. Listening to her, she didn't want her to go through those situations ever again.

However, what she was able to do was remove herself from the situation, as Emma continued to be with him on and off. Chrishell talked about breaking the toxic cycle of picking up Emma after she would go back to her boyfriend, and then he would ghost her. She also talked about the lies while sharing her views on the situation.

Listening to Chrishell talk about the lies, the Selling Sunset Reunion host asked about it. She noted lying to the people who were close to them. Chrishell recalled the time when Emma told her she was going to see her family. However, in truth, Emma went to see Blake in the Bahamas.

"You're lying about things that it's very clear you're lying about, when you say you're going to see family, and show up with him in the Bahamas. And you're flaking on your friends. I take that as a hit to the friendship," added Chrishell.

Further in the reunion, Emma shared her thoughts on Blake and her friendship with Chrishell.
