What happened in the previous episode?
In Abbott Elementary Season 5 Episode 1, Team Building, the teachers returned for Development Day. Ava introduced a new fourth-grade teacher, Dominic Clark, who used to be one of Barbara’s kindergarten students. Janine worried Barbara would feel old, but instead, she welcomed Dominic with open arms and began mentoring him.
This made Janine question her place at the school since she had always been Barbara’s mentee. At the same time, Melissa started her new job by teaching sixth-grade math and found out that middle schoolers could be mean.
Craig, a district official, came to lead some team-building activities, but a gas leak and a collapsing ceiling forced everyone outside the premises. Meanwhile, Gregory tried to teach Mr. Johnson how to ride a bike.
