ABC's Scrubs reboot faces a major change after co-showrunner Tim Hobert stepped down from his position. Deadline reported about the behind-the-scenes change and revealed that now, Aseem Batra will serve as the solo showrunner of the Scrubs reboot.Deadline also reported that Hobert left the show due to creative differences, but will still be credited as the executive producer for the first few episodes of the reboot series. The show first premiered in 2001 and wrapped up in 2010. Now, ABC has decided to bring back the show that was loved by many. The production of the series had just started in Vancouver earlier in October.As per Deadline, the show revival had its table read in September and has already filmed the first two episodes and will be filming the next. The series will encounter significant changes behind the scenes due to Hobert's departure moving forward.The first episode is co-written by both Batra and Hobert and will bring back the OG cast members, such as Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Donald Faison, and Judy Reyes, who will reprise their characters from the original Scrubs series.Apart from them, Batra and Hobert are also not new to the show as they were also part of the creative team for the original series, which was Bill Lawrence, who is also an executive producer in the revival show. Batra was executive story editor and co-producer of the original series, while Tim Hobert was credited as the co-producer and executive producer of it.While Hobert has left the show due to creative differences, he will still be credited as executive producer in the first five episodes of the reboot. Along with Lawrence and Hobert, Zach Braff will also be serving as an executive producer and has also directed Episode 1 of the reboot series.
