The third season, episode 2 of Absentia is a quick-paced and high-stakes action movie. Emily is stabbed seriously and immediately drawn into a mission to locate Nick. She runs out of the hospital in search of her informant, Kai. They all follow up on leads in the disappearance of Nick.

This Absentia episode becomes wild fast with fights, torture, and danger. There is an enigmatic criminal gang called Meridian that Emily deals with. Toward the end of the episode, a bomb explosion leaves the viewer stunned by an eschatonic cliffhanger. The season does not delay in showing that Emily is ready to go to any length to save Nick, even as she takes her medication following her injury.

Emily's hospital escape and mission to find Kai

In this episode of Absentia, Emily (played by Stana Katic) comes to the hospital after being stabbed. She is saved by her brother Jack, who administers an emergency surgery. Emily wakes up determined to locate Nick. She disregards the medical precautions and hastens out of the hospital. Emily resorts to her detective abilities to trace the informant of Nick, called Kai. She recalls a rosary that Kai used to carry around. Emily goes to a church and addresses the priest.

The priest informs her of a church known as Tanya House. At this location, Emily finds Kai. Suddenly, a suspicious automobile appears. Emily uses the police to cause a diversion and, in the process, flees with Kai. This scene depicts the resourcefulness and the fast thinking of Emily. She cannot just remain safe as Nick is missing.


Finding the man with the white eye

In Absentia Season 3 Episode 2, Kai recognizes the mugger who punched Nick. She refers to him as a white-eyed man. Kai provides Emily with a password for an illegal fighting club. Emily joins the underground struggle club and gets the man she is seeking. She drugs him to weaken him. Emily makes him tell her where Nick has been taken by stabbing him in the stomach.

After receiving an address, Emily sets out to save Nick. But Nick wasn't there when she got there. Someone else had saved an injured Nick. Moreover, Emily finds out that Nick was abducted by the group Meridian. She is given a name and fresh leads to pursue.


Cal's secret and the building explosion

In the Absentia 'Capta Est' episode, viewers saw that Gunnarson finds out that Cal is linked to Meridian. In his FBI file, there is information that is redacted. Cal is not willing to elaborate on his association with this criminal group. Gunnarson becomes doubtful about the allegiances of Cal. The FBI later finds a building where the kidnappers of Nick may be concealed.

Agents are circling all around the location, ready to go on a raid. They are almost at the building when a huge explosion takes place. It is still uncertain whether Nick survives the blast or not. The episode concludes with the fact that it is not known whether Nick survived.
