The Alicia Silverstone starrer Irish Blood was one of the most-watched series in Acorn TV history, leading to the highest subscriber sign-ups for the North American streaming service.
So, it makes sense that the network has renewed the show for its second season. The decision comes right before the Season 1 finale premiere, so fans need not worry about the cliffhanger's resolution.
Here's everything we know about the renewed season of Irish Blood.
What is the Acorn TV murder mystery, Irish Blood, about

Acorn TV's murder mystery series follows Silverstone's Fiona Fox, who lives a happy life with her mother, but a lot of it was defined by the fact that her father abandoned their family when she was 10. However, it isn't until years later that a letter from her father takes her to Ireland, and she's faced with the reality that everything she thought she knew about her father and his leaving wasn't necessarily true.
Upon reaching Ireland, her world is turned upside down upon discovering that she has a lot of family that she never even knew about, and neither do they know about her and her mother's existence.
Finding out that her entire childhood was a lie and that her father had actually left them in order to protect them from the darker side of his business dealings forces Fiona to try and uncover the truth.
What can be expected from Acorn TV's Irish Blood Season 2

Well, apart from the hope that it doesn't fall into the sophomore slump, Irish Blood Season 2 will, in all probability, explore Fiona trying to learn more about everything that she has discovered in Ireland.
Alicia Silverstone revealed in a conversation with TVInsider that her character, Fiona, will have a lot of questions to address after the finale of the first season. From her choice between staying in Ireland or going back home, to whether she wants a deeper exploration into all the relationships that she's found here, there's a lot that Fiona has to figure out for herself.
"She’s been there a while now, so what does this all mean and what’s going to happen and where does she belong? Because her world has been turned upside down and now she has all this family here that she wants to get to know. It makes her feel closer to her dad. "
She went on to add:
"She’s felt so alienated and so isolated, and she’s been so cold in her experience with her relationships, and now she has her mom there. So that’s tricky. And she loves her assistant, Tess [Djouliet Amara], who I think is still fantastic. But that’s a real torn situation There’s so much to explore. I think we’re going to go deeper into the emotional, the feelings of it all, and allow ourselves to slow down on that.."
While the first season featured Fiona discovering a lot of truths about the lies that were made up in her childhood while protecting her mother and trying to unmask and expose some very dark family secrets, the second season will have to slow down and be more focused on going deeper into the emotional feeling of it all.
