A month and a half after The Witcher Season 4's release, fans learned that another cast member of the series continued Henry Cavill's tradition of asking the makers to stick to the source material. It is none other than Freya Allan, who plays Princess Ciri in the fantasy series. Allen was interviewed by NME last week, in which she discussed her role in the series extensively.

But one of the highlights of the episode is when Allan discusses her love for the source material. This is where the actress revealed that, like Henry Cavill, she also asked the makers of The Witcher Season 4 to stick to the books.

What did The Witcher Season 4 actress Freya Allan say?

It is well known that The Witcher fans are not fans of the Netflix show because of the alterations. This is why Henry Cavill connected so well with fans is his open celebration of The Witcher games and books. This is why it wasn't surprising when Cavill announced his exit from the Netflix fantasy series, while simultaneously confirming Liam Hemsworth taking over from him in The Witcher Season 4:

"Some news to share from The Continent… My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find. #TheWitcher @LiamHemsworth"

Now, it seems that Freya Allan has chosen to do the same thing that Cavill did during his tenure as Geralt of Rivia. Revealing her love for Andrzej Sapkowski's books, Allan expressed her desire to appeal to the fans in the NME interview published last week. Here's what she said:

“I really want to give fans what they want. I’d also seen Henry, who was so knowledgeable and loyal to the books, push for certain lines to be included. When he left, I was inspired to take on that role.”

These words have fans hopeful that The Witcher Season 5 will stick the landing with fans and non-fans alike. But the actress surprised everyone by revealing that she considered quitting the Netflix series with season 3, as Cavill did:

“Season three was a really difficult season for everyone. I cried because I wanted to finish the show with the guy that played my adoptive father.” It got her thinking about her own future. “For the first time, I was seeing what life away from The Witcher could look like and then the lead moves on…”

The Witcher Season 4 ended with Ciri as a hostage of Bonhart. This storyline is expected to be resolved in season 5, which is set to release in 2026.
