Marvel's Secret Invasion has long been considered the black sheep of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Usually, the likes and dislikes towards a project are distributed in both spectrums, but such is not the case for this Marvel series. It's not often that viewers adamantly unite in their dislike of a project, but this one has been considered one of the worst MCU projects to date by the majority of Marvel fans (well, that's not counting She-Hulk).

When Secret Invasion was announced, fans were excited for this project and were even looking forward to a special addition of an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor to the cast. However, it was later revealed that this actor was not involved in the project, leading to a lot of disappointment before release. The character in question was Chloe Bennet's Daisy Johnson.

Chloe Bennet has never commented on her distance from the project except to clarify to her fans that she was not involved until now. According to reports, in a recent appearance at Dragon Con, Bennet threw some shots at Secret Invasion.

When Secret Invasion was announced, fans started bombarding Chloe Bennet, asking her if she was involved in the project. The curiosity went so far ahead that one of the fans who spotted her at Target decided they needed to approach and ask her in person if she was involved.

This led to Bennet taking to her socials and making a statement once and for all that she wasn't anywhere near the project and wasn't even aware of what it was, so people needed to stop asking her the same thing over and over again.

This was the only time Bennet spoke about Secret Invasion until recently, when she made some bold statements at the Dragon Con panel. According to Bennet, she should've been a part of the series, and maybe then the series would've been a little bit better than what it was. The claim was extremely pointed, and soon enough, fans started weighing in with their own opinions and views about her addition.

While some of the MCU fans are in support of her claim, as they are of the opinion that her character's addition to the plot would've been a chance to fold Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. into the Marvel Cinematic Universe's canon timeline.

Apart from poor writing, one of the biggest fan complaints regarding Secret Invasion is that it broke the universe's canon events in numerous ways that angered longtime fans. So, adding this character and its world might've helped maintain the balance of the canon events. In contrast, others seem to think that such an addition would not have added anything of value.

Nevertheless, the fact that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is not considered canon in the MCU timeline might have something to do with the fact that characters from AOS weren't added into Secret Invasion, which is considered canon. The only way her character, Daisy, could be a part was if AOS was established as canon, or Bennet would have to join in an entirely new role.
