My Life with the Walter Boys is returning on Netflix for season 2 on August 28, 2025. The series, an adaptation of Ali Novak's book, has gained a following since the initial season was made available in December 2023.

As per Netflix Tudum, Season 2 will release all episodes at the same time, picking up where they left off as Jackie Howard continues her life with the Walters.

In the meantime, Season 3 is officially in development, set to launch in 2026. This development indicates the series's continued popularity and sustained support from both its audience and Netflix.

My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 release date and context

Netflix has confirmed that My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 will have all ten episodes released on August 28, 2025. Stars Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, and Ashby Gentry made the announcement earlier in July 2025 at the Calgary Stampede, where they also unveiled new peeks at the season.

Season 2 resumes following the cliffhanger conclusion of Season 1, when Jackie departs the Walter residence and goes back to New York. The new season examines how Jackie handles her lingering emotions and the continuing complicated dynamics between the Walter boys, primarily Cole and Alex.

The show's production for Season 2 was completed in November 2024 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, showcasing a fast schedule from filming to streaming. New actors, Natalie Sharp, Carson MacCormac, Janet Kidder, Riele Downs, and Jake Manley, will be part of the lead cast in Season 2.

My Life with the Walter Boys Season 3: Renewal and production status

My Life with the Walter Boys has been renewed for a third season even before the premiere of Season 2 by Netflix. As per official announcements made by both Netflix and showrunner Melanie Halsall, pre-production for Season 3 starts in June 2025. Production will take place from August 6 to December 1, 2025, predominantly in Alberta, Canada.

Season 3 will be released in 2026. The show's producers state that there are plans for a greater set of stories, to be based on the extensive Walter family and friends. The evolving plot and consistent production timeline reflect the show’s stable popularity and the streaming platform’s commitment to ongoing seasons.

Story overview and adaptation background

My Life with the Walter Boys is a coming-of-age series based on Ali Novak's 2014 novel, originally popularized on Wattpad. The drama follows Manhattan teenager Jackie Howard, who moves to rural Colorado after a family tragedy. She is adopted by Katherine Walter, her mother's best friend, and soon finds herself in a new world with ten Walter kids.

The show's emphasis is on Jackie's self-realization and her tumultuous relationships with brothers Alex and Cole. Season 1, released in December 2023, left Jackie at a crossroads, bringing numerous questions that Season 2 is poised to answer.

Initial reception was strong, with the series debuting in Netflix's Top 10 across 88 countries within a short time of release.

Cast and production details

Nikki Rodriguez stars as Jackie Howard, alongside Noah LaLonde (Cole Walter), Ashby Gentry (Alex Walter), Sarah Rafferty (Katherine Walter), and Marc Blucas (George Walter). Further recurring characters were announced before Season 2's release.

The series is backed by Sony Pictures Television and iGeneration Studios, after having done a production collaboration that also gave us Netflix's The Kissing Booth series. Calgary, Alberta, is the primary location, with production also being done in other towns in the vicinity.

With Season 2 streaming on August 28, 2025, and Season 3 already in production, My Life with the Walter Boys keeps pushing its scheduled growth, with new characters and narratives, adding depth to the show as it makes its way towards 2026.

A new Walter family chapter is coming soon, with plenty more on the way.
