The newest horror science fiction show, Alien: Earth, has been received really well. Right after its release on 12th August, the show became a promising entry into the Alien franchise, which already has a huge fanbase. The show has already amassed a huge number of views across platforms.

Alien: Earth draws impressive ratings and viewership
In the first six days, the show grabbed 9.2 million global views, as reported by Deadline. That is undoubtedly a massive number for a show to receive within just six days. It should be noted that the show is not just airing on Disney, as it is also being aired on FX simultaneously.

In an interview with the media, creator Noah Hawley discussed the challenges of bringing Alien: Earth to life:
“The biggest challenge is how do you take a monster movie — a two-hour survival story … and turn that into something that can [run] for many years. It’s a character that you can invest in emotionally and a larger structure that pulls the audience through. [I also] tried to figure out what the first two films [Alien and Aliens] made me feel and why. How can I create those feelings in an audience by telling a totally different story?”
Despite the challenges, the show has undoubtedly brought forth an intriguing storyline. The series explores the dangers humanity faces when confronted with the mysterious creatures that threaten their existence. There is gore, there is thrill, and every other ingredient necessary to create a masterpiece.
If you are a long-time fan of the Alien franchise, then this show is definitely a must-watch for you. Apart from the already terrifying creatures that we have seen in the franchise, Alien: Earth will bring out newer and more terrifying beings. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, creator Hawley spoke about the addition of the new creatures:
“You don’t know how they reproduce or what they eat. So you get this dread that comes every time they’re on screen where you’re like, ‘I know something’s going to happen. I don’t know what it’s going to be.’ And then when it happens, it’s worse than you could have imagined.”
The strong start of the show has not only been an intriguing factor for the viewers but also for the creators of the show. The well-crafted story and special effects have created a masterpiece.

The show has Sydney Chandler as the lead, playing the role of Wendy. Along with her, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, and many more talented actors are part of the cast. If the ratings and the viewership continue to grow steadily, the show would undoubtedly create its place in the history of science fiction horror. Alien: Earth can be accessed on Disney+ and FX.
