Netflix's latest drama adaptation, The Hunting Wives, has been the talk of the town for quite some time now. The Rebecca Cutter show is all about politics, murder, and twisted tales of love, featuring an ensemble cast led by Brittany Snow and Malin Maria Åkerman.
The two central characters of The Hunting Wives, Margo Banks and Sophi O'Neil, have been portrayed by Åkerman and Snow, respectively. With impeccable direction and flawless acting, the crime drama has successfully portrayed a reckless chemistry between the two protagonists.
Recently, while in an interview with Collider, Brittany Snow opened up about her experience while filming certain intimate sequences with Åkerman, saying:
"All we had to do was connect with each other."
What did Brittany Snow say about filming intimate scenes with The Hunting Wives co-star Malin Maria Åkerman?
According to Brittany Snow's latest statement to Collider, the 39-year-old star had quite the on-set bonding with co-actress Malin Maria Åkerman. She recently mentioned that the two of them had a lot of discussion with the creative team, as none of them wanted "to make the scenes gratuitous".
To quote Snow's exact words:
"We did have a lot of conversations with the directors and with Rebecca about not wanting to make the scenes gratuitous."
Per Collider, Snow further added that even though the whole team worked to make the sequences look as 'real' as possible, the two lead stars "were obviously nervous about" the same. According to Brittany Snow, she and Malin "became really close friends" while working together.
Malin even helped boost her confidence on the set, especially while filming the intimate scenes in The Hunting Wives. Brittany Snow's The Hunting Wives character Sophie is someone who is initially reserved and keeps to herself.
However, when she comes across Margo Banks (Malin Maria Åkerman), she slowly comes out of her shell and embraces her own aura - even though Margo sends Sophie down a reckless journey of love, lies, and politics.
As Snow mentioned in her interview with Collider, Malin (in real life) also helped her get out of her shell and be bold in those sequences. The Hunting Wives demanded "a true blue wildflower" to portray Margo's role, and Malin was the perfect choice.
She further added:
"I very much relate to Sophie, in a more nervous way. I’m definitely more reserved. Malin got me out of my shell, much like Margo does, and you can see that in those scenes as well."
