The police narrow down to arrest Carrie Finch as the prime suspect, a nanny employed by Jenny. Carrie had also disappeared since then. Milo's own nanny, Ana Garcia, has seen Carrie meeting a mysterious man who was then revealed to be Kyle, an ex-convict. The investigation then leads to Kyle's dead body, and this is when the case deepens, suggesting a bigger conspiracy.
Amid the chaos, Marissa forms an unlikely friendship with Jenny, who seems equally devastated by the situation. Jenny works as a publishing agent with thriller author Logan Lee. The media attention and coverage of the kidnapping case gradually began to affect her career and mental state. Marissa and Jenny bond over shared trauma; however, Jenny isn't that innocent.
