New additions to the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2
As a faithful adaptation of The Sea of Monsters, Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 is set to bring a host of new characters to life, including one who will become very dear to Percy.
Percy's brother, Tyson, played by Daniel Diemer
Tyson will be one of the biggest new additions to the second season. Daniel Diemer's Tyson is a cyclops, as he is the son of Poseidon and a nymph rather than being half god and half human. Tyson has one eye, but he stands out owing to his bulky figure and height. However, he is a whimsical and charming character who will grow very close to Percy.
Nevertheless, Tyson will be an interesting new addition to the dynamic of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2. Tyson will also be joining Percy and Annabeth on the journey to save Grover and to get a healing Golden Fleece from a grown-up cyclops, Polyphemus.
The goddess Athena, played by Andra Day
Athena, the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy, is set to join Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2. Athena and her daughter Annabeth's relationship is complicated, to say the least. Shrouded with pride, demands, and expectations, this relationship might be explored in the second season of the show. Andra Day is set to take over this role.
Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, played by Tamara Smart
Another new character set to join the Season 2 cast is Tamara Smart's Thalia Grace, the daughter of Zeus. This season will chronicle the developing rift between gods and their children, and Thalia and Zeus' interactions this season will be representative of that. Thalia plays an important role in the second season; however, it is actually in the third season that she will be prominently seen.
The Gray sisters, played by Sandra Bernhard, Margaret Cho, and Kristen Schaal
The Gray sisters, daughters of Ceto and Phorcys, will be joining the cast for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2. The trio shares a single eye and tooth between each other, and this detail about them will be used to slay Medusa.
Finally, the god of skies and thunder was previously played by the late Lance Reddick, who died last year, and now Courtney B. Vance will take over the role as Zeus, marking his entry into the second season.
