Sheriff Country, the new spin-off of Fire Country, is set to be released soon. The trailer for the upcoming show has debuted on US Weekly. The trailer reveals Mickey Fox (played by Morena Baccarin), whom we were introduced to in Fire Country, as she becomes the sheriff of Edgewater and solves crimes that disrupt the town's peace.
Sharon (played by Dian Farr), Mickey's stepsister, will appear in Sheriff Country. This was revealed at the end of the trailer when Sharon tells Mickey,
"You are Edgewater’s finest"
Everything we know about Sheriff Country
According to CBS, the show
Sheriff Country stars Morena Baccarin as straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr of Fire Country), who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter. Sheriff Country is an expansion of the universe of the hit drama series Fire Country.
The series is part of the Fire Country universe and has a connection to Sharon Leone, as Mickey Fox is Sharon's stepsister. Mickey and Sharon had a complicated relationship in the past due to Mickey busting Bode when he was a teenager. Due to that incident, Sharon has blamed Mickey for the crimes Bode committed, even as an adult. While their relationship is not as strained, it's not perfect either, and the upcoming spin-off will hopefully explore the relationship between these two sisters even more.
In the trailer, Mickey seems to be a confident sheriff who, despite having her own struggles regarding her daughter, does her best to make Edgewater a safer town. As for what to expect from the spin-off, Michele Weaver, who is set to play Cassidy, a deputy sheriff in Sheriff Country, told US Weekly,
"It’s so new. But I do think there is a little bit of a different element just because on Sheriff Country we’re really following a story behind a female lead and the dynamics of what it’s like to be a strong female in a male dominated workplace,”

The trailer has made it clear that the upcoming spin-off will differ from Fire Country in some aspects because firefighters and sheriffs have different responsibilities.
As Weaver pointed out,
“Also, I do think naturally when you’re at a sheriff’s house and not a firehouse, the problems that you’re dealing with are a little bit different.”
She added,
“It’s not as catastrophic necessarily as much as people issues. This is what’s really exciting is to see the dynamic between the citizens of the city that we already know and love in a new way.”
We have already seen Diane Farr in the trailer, which means Sharon will appear in the upcoming spin-off. But other characters from Fire Country could make appearances as well.

This has been teased by Weaver, as she told US Weekly,
“There are crossovers happening,”
She continued,
“There’s only a few episodes — but there has been some."
Other than Morena Baccarin, Diane Farr, and Michele Weaver, the rest of the cast for Sheriff Country includes Christopher Gorham as Travis, Matt Lauria as Boone, Vanessa Smythe as Caroline Gilmble, David Klein as Deputy Mason Mitchell, Remy Smith as Simon, Marc-André Boulanger as Yates, Taylor Love as a deputy, W. Earl Brown as Wes, Caroline Rhea as Gina, and Amanda Arcuri as Skye.

Sheriff Country releases on 17th October 2025 at 9 pm ET on CBS. The new episodes will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
