Dr. Heather Collins and Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch’s will-they or won’t they romance was one of the highlights of The Pitt Season 1. Amid challenging medical cases, the two dealt with some personal stuff as details about their romantic history came out.

However, despite sharing some sweet moments, Collins and Robby could not become a thing by the end of season 1, as the former had to leave the shift after suffering a miscarriage. Now that the show is returning with a second season, Tracy Ifeachor, who plays Collins, has talked about her character’s potential future with Robby.

In an interview with Us Weekly, the actress revealed that she wanted the two characters to get into a relationship in season 1 itself, but now that it has not happened, audiences can expect some surprises in The Pitt Season 2.

“I am always a hopeful romantic. I would have loved to have seen that toward the end of the season. I remember saying to Noah [Wyle] one time, I was like, ‘I’ve been trying to flirt with you [on screen] all season. You have not even given me the time of day.’” Ifeachor said.

Audiences could immediately sense chemistry between Dr. Collins and Dr. Robby as soon as The Pitt started airing on Max in January this year. As the season progressed, some secrets about the two’s past relationship were revealed.

During her interview, Tracy Ifeachor said that while reading the medical drama’s script, she could sense something was going on between these doctors. She added that the audience is in for a surprise in The Pitt Season 2.

“I was always trying to, and I felt like it was definitely in the script. I would say there’s going to be lots of surprises to come,” the actress said.

Ifeachor further explained how she was able to portray chemistry with Noah Wyle, who plays Dr. Robby, effortlessly on screen, stating that they learned to trust each other over the course of the first season’s shoot. She said:

“We just really vibed. We are just both very present and in the scene and very available to each other … Hopefully we learned to really trust each other.”
“You are working together and you don’t know each other. It’s just such an intense show. Then suddenly you’re having to do these scenes where you have history. So it was a real journey.”

The Pitt turned out to be a huge success for Max with its realistic portrayal of the challenges faced by doctors and other medical staff during a 15-hour emergency shift. Due to positive reviews and strong viewership, the show was instantly renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere in January 2026.

Apart from Ifeachor and Wyle, the show stars Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon, Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans, Fiona Dourif as Dr. Cassie McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. Melissa "Mel" King, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Samira Mohan, Shabana Azeez as Victoria Javadi, Gerran Howell as Dennis Whitaker, and Isa Briones as Dr. Trinity Santos.
