Amsterdam Empire, a new Netflix show, debuted on 30th October with all seven episodes dropping together. It portrays the story of Betty, who was once a renowned pop star, leaving her career to marry a wealthy man, the owner of a coffee shop chain, Jack. The coffeeshop goes by the name The Jackal and is being used by Jack to illegally produce cannabis. This is how the story gradually underscores the cannabis trade business in Amsterdam, connecting it with the underworld.

Betty and Jack's life turns upside down when Jack reveals that he is in love with someone else, a journalist named Marjolein Hoffman and wants to divorce Betty. This makes her furious, and Betty decides to destroy Jack and his business using the secrets she knows about him.

By the season finale, Betty was able to seize control over Jack's Empire; however, it still leaves some plot points unanswered.

Will Jack seek redemption or revenge?

As mentioned by the end of the Amsterdam Empire's finale, Betty takes control over Jack's coffee shop and cannabis empire, already destroying him after he leaves her for someone else. Season 1 finale closes this arc, but Jack is no less. Season 2 must answer whether Jack will rise again and take revenge on Betty.
