Jason Bateman joins Jude Law in Netflix's new crime thriller, Black Rabbit, which premiered at this year's Toronto Film Festival, a few weeks before making its streaming debut.
Since its online release, fans have been gushing over their impressive chemistry in this gritty thriller set in the streets of New York. It stars Batman as a chaotic brother, Vince, who arrives in NYC to seek help from his brother, Jake (Law). Jake is the owner of a big restaurant, while Vince doesn't seem to have any clue what he's doing with his life.
Vince and Jake's oddball dynamic becomes the crux of this intense thriller that shows characters on the verge of breaking down any given minute. While the characters may not see eye-to-eye on many things, the co-stars, Bateman and Law, have admired each other's work. They have previously spoken about their admiration for each other's craft.
Bateman spoke about Law again during his recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Seth began by asking Bateman about his working experience with Law, to which Bateman replied,
"You think he can't be that great and then he's better."
Black Rabbit brings Jason Bateman and Jude Law for a boiling point drama in the world of restaurants

Jason Bateman is known for his comedic roles, but is no stranger to moody and gritty dramas. He not only starred in Netflix's Ozark but also directed many of its episodes, and his directorial work also earned him an Emmy. His co-star, Jude Law, has also been in projects that would keep you on the edge of your seat. That's why Black Rabbit seems like the project that could benefit from their collective talents to bring its bleak world to the screen.
As viewers, Bateman and Law may not seem miles apart based on the kind of projects they have been in. That doesn't mean they don't have anything in common. In a recent interview with USA Today, Bateman spoke about similarities between him and Law. The Ozark star said,
"Jude and I are both super appreciative for the place we have managed to hold onto in this business, as far as maintaining employment. We've both been at it for so long, so when you get an opportunity to do something that you really like and you're in a position of leadership, you can curate the kind of set you want and the kind of people you want to work with."
He added,
"We definitely shared that responsibility from beginning to middle to end. We both love to laugh and we don't take ourselves too seriously, but we take the work very seriously."
What is Black Rabbit about?
Here's the official synopsis for the show, as per Netflix's Tudum,
"Set against the backdrop of New York City’s high-pressure nightlife scene, Black Rabbit centers around two brothers who learn just how far family and the pursuit of success can push them to the edge. Jake Friedken is the charismatic owner of Black Rabbit, a restaurant and VIP lounge, poised to become the hottest spot in New York."
"But when his brother, Vince (Jason Bateman), returns to the business unexpectedly, trouble soon follows, opening the door to old traumas and new dangers that threaten to bring down everything they’ve built. Black Rabbit is a propulsive thrill ride and character examination about the way an unbreakable bond between two brothers can shatter their world and everything in its orbit."
