And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 1 recap: Seema breaks up, Miranda dates a nun, Carrie misses Aidan

Max's comedy-drama And Just Like That Season 3 is here! Created by Darren Star, this series serves as a sequel/reboot to the iconic show, Sex and the City. So, if you're planning to watch something unapologetically chaotic, whimsical, and fun, And Just Like That is a perfect pick. This series delves into the lives of women in their mid-50s as they navigate relationships, friendships, and identity.

Previously, in And Just Like That Season 2, we saw Carrie and Aidan decide to take a break and reunite after five years. Meanwhile, Miranda tries to mend things with her exes and, in the end, decides to be single, while Seema finds it difficult to balance her relationship with her producer boyfriend, Ravi. On the other hand, we see Lisa struggling with the aftermath of a miscarriage.

And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 1: Miranda's Lady bar fiasco

Miranda Hobbes, newly single and fully embracing her queerness, decides to venture out into a lesbian bar with Carrie and Charlotte. In a hilarious moment, she mistakenly flirts with her son's former babysitter. After the failed fiasco, Miranda meets an overly friendly Canadian tourist, Mary, a charming and fun old woman played by Rosie O'Donnell.

What starts as a one-night stand eventually turns into something unexpected—Mary isn't just a virgin but also a nun. Even though Miranda tries to avoid Mary throughout the episode, especially after the shocking revelation, she finds herself drawn back to Mary. Miranda meets her in Times Square and explains why she cannot be her. However, Mary seems to be quite chill as she continues to yap about seeing Wicked on Broadway. Meanwhile, Charlotte falls into trouble as her dog, Richard Burton, starts bullying other dogs in the park. Lisa, on the other hand, pitches her documentary about unsung Black women to PBS. She receives feedback about including Michelle Obama in the list, which she isn't quite sure about.

Did Seema break up with Ravi in And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 1?

It seems Seema Patel's and her movie producer boyfriend Ravi's relationship hit rock bottom. The episode shows Seema trying to reconnect with Ravi, who is too busy with his work and almost ghosts her for a week. Seema falls asleep with a cigarette in her hand, which causes a minor fire mishap.

When the couple finally meets after Seema asks Ravi to prove his love for her, Ravi tucks Seema into a van full of production assistants. He even cancels their fancy lunch, mocks her perfume, and hands her a soda and crisps. Pretty unromantic, right? Seema grows quite furious, and before she leaves the venue, she breaks up with him. As Seema enters her car, Ravi tells her that he will always love her, and in turn, Seema delivers an iconic statement.

"Great last line."

Carrie's false starts: Love letters and false climaxes

The episode begins with Carrie writing a postcard to Aiden in a classic teenage love letter format sealed with a heart. She's left navigating the awkward limbo of a long-distance non-relationship. When Aidan initiates a late-night phone call, s*x-drunk, shirtless, and possibly driving, Carrie fakes her emotions. The episode ends with Carrie restless and unable to sleep, and she finally starts writing after weeks. It seems like Carrie is finally starting to realize that she needs to prioritize herself and sort out what's good for her.
