And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 8, Happily Ever After, dropped on Thursday, July 17, 2025. In just 32 minutes of this compact yet layered episode, Carrie, Seema, Charlotte, Lisa, and Miranda navigate through uncomfortable truths and tough choices.

"Carrie attempts to work on notes with Duncan while Aidan is in town for a visit. LTW tries to tamp down a growing attraction."

In the previous episode, we saw how Carrie and her charming biographer neighbor, Duncan, spent time with each other during Charlotte's birthday bash. Duncan even complimented Carrie's work. However, during the party debrief, when Miranda asked about them, Carrie was quite agitated and reminded her that she was still with Aidan.

And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 5 recap: Aidan returns to New York with lots of emotional baggage

This episode of And Just Like That Season 3 opens with Aidan's sudden return to New York. He shows up at Carrie's door with multiple bags, as they climb to Carrie's room, Aidan utters,

"Man, can you believe? I'm actually gonna be here for more than two days."

Soon after, Aidan starts to unload his emotional baggage. He tells Carrie that his teenage son Wyatt has decided to live with his mother, leaving him unexpectedly unanchored. Although Aidan claims he is free to spend more time with Carrie, his tone is weighed down by guilt and curiosity over Carrie's downstairs neighbor, Duncan. After they share a heartfelt kiss, when Aidan asks her about her plans, Carrie replies,

"I'm all yours till 7:30. Then Duncan's giving me notes on my second chapter."

Carrie, who is too elated to see Aidan, gives him everything he needs to make himself comfortable. However, Aidan questions her about her friendship with Duncan, a writer she barely knows but meets regularly. His passive-aggressiveness prompts him to do some research, and he learns via Seema and Adam that Duncan is a meanie.

Miranda's moment of reckoning

In And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 8, Miranda quietly wrestles with sobriety. Joy, fresh off a work trip, gifts her a bottle of gin unaware of Miranda's decision. Instead of confessing, Miranda keeps the bottle, but Joy guesses it. Later at Charlotte's gallery event, Miranda discusses the awkwardness of disclosing her sobriety.

The real test comes later at the night when Miranda is left alone. She reaches for the bottle, pours a drink, contemplates, and then drains it into the sink. She disposes the bottle. It is a quiet but firm control — at least for now.

Lisa and Seema struggle with Flirking and Funk

In this episode of And Just Like That Season 3, Lisa finds herself caught between ambition and attraction. After a vivid s*x dream involving her documentary editor Marion, she consults Charlotte, who chalks it up to creative chemistry. Lisa gains confidence as she replies,

A chaotic gallery opening for Charlotte

For Charlotte, managing a gallery installation filled with provocative '80s-themed pieces, is no joke. Rather, it brings chaos. During the event, when Charlotte spots Miranda with a glass of champagne, her vertigo flares up. She tumbles upon a display mattress beside a nude performance artist, accidentally with a condom on her arm. It is perfect comedy that's physical, though cringeworthy.

Elsewhere at the gallery, Anthony attempts to impress Giuseppe's mother, Gia, who remains unimpressed. He plots to win her over with a home-cooked Italian meal.

A closing shot

Back home, as Carrie drifts off next to Aidan, it is clear nothing is simple. Joy dosen't know Miranda's truth. Lisa can't control her attraction. Seema is questioning her instincts. And Aidan is no closer to feeling at home in Carrie's world, especially with Duncan's presence in her life.
