More about Andor Showrunner revealing the secret of Force Awakening
Cassian Andor first appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and is the protagonist of the Star Wars prequel series Andor and the famous program does not focus on Jedi or the Force like other Star Wars movies/shows do, rather, it mainly focuses on personal sacrifice, political strife, and espionage.
The show takes an unexpected turn in Season 2, Episode 7. This is specifically when the Force is revealed and this is explained by Tony Gilroy, the showrunner. Even though the program has so far avoided the mystical aspects of Star Wars, Gilroy thought it would be wrong to completely dismiss the Force.
In the episode, a Force healer comes to Yavin IV to treat Cassian's injuries and that of his companion Bix. She calls him a "messenger," suggesting that he will be a significant figure in the future.
Gilroy described the Force as a rare and mysterious force throughout the galaxy, especially during the Empire era. Because few people are aware of it, the program managed to depict it gently. Cassian's meeting with the Force healer is a watershed event in his journey and regarding the same, in an interview with Mashable he said:
"As I rolled into the second season, I realized that destiny was really such a huge part of what made Cassian special..."
He also clarified that the Force healer "has no game." Tony Gilroy is widely known for his work on a variety of movies and television series and he wrote the scripts for The Bourne Identity (2002) and The Bourne Supremacy (2004). He also co-wrote Rogue One and serves as the showrunner for Andor and with this, Tony eventually influences the future of the Star Wars franchise.
