Renowned American author and filmmaker Vince Gilligan is the creator of the television shows Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. El Camino, a movie that carries on the Breaking Bad plot, was also written and directed by him.

He co-created The Lone Gunmen, the X-Files spin-off, and wrote episodes for the show earlier in his career. He was born in 1967 in Virginia. Gilligan had an early passion for movies and later studied film at NYU.

The first poster for Vince Gilligan's upcoming science fiction drama, Wycaro 339, has been unveiled by Apple TV+. The show, which stars Rhea Seehorn and Karolina Wydra, is a departure from Gilligan's crime dramas in terms of creativity. It is now under production in Albuquerque and is scheduled to premiere in 2025, with two seasons already confirmed.

More about the Untitled series by Breaking Bad creator Vince Galligan

Apple TV+ has unveiled the first poster for its next unnamed series, developed by famed filmmaker Vince Gilligan. The reveal, provided by @DiscussingFilm on X, is the first promotional material for the highly anticipated project.

The cast of this new series will be led by Rhea Seehorn, with whom Gilligan previously worked on Better Call Saul. The project has high expectations because of Gilligan's creative history, even if it has nothing to do with the Better Call Saul or Breaking Bad world. Although the title may change before publication, Wycaro 339 is the working title used for the series.

While narrative details are kept under wraps, the series is characterized as a science fiction drama. This departs from Gilligan's prior concentration on crime-themed storytelling. It is expected to explore psychological and thematic elements through a distinct narrative structure. According to reports, the plot opens with a startling change in the world, laying the groundwork for the continuous drama that will span the series.

Apple TV+ has shown considerable support for the series by purchasing two seasons in advance, an unusual move that displays trust in Gilligan's vision and the project's potential. Production began in early 2024 and is expected to be completed by the end of the same year. A debut is expected in 2025 owing to genre requirements and visual effects work.

The setting for the filming is Albuquerque, New Mexico, which Gilligan and his crew are accustomed to. The location provides the team with creative familiarity and production efficiency. Longtime viewers may recognize the consistent tone maintained by this location.

Seehorn is joined in the cast by Karolina Wydra. He starred in True Blood and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The main presence of strong female protagonists points to a shift in Gilligan's casting strategy. This mainly broadens the range of characters and storylines in his writing.

Although specifics are still sparse, the poster unveiling indicates that promotional activities have begun. Fans may expect more details, such as the official title, trailer, and debut date, in the following months.
