Arcane, after its overwhelming reception for its stunning animation and intricate world-building, is getting a Blu-ray and 4K release. This includes a limited-edition Steelbook for Season 2. Netflix’s critically acclaimed animated series is based on League of Legends, and Season 2 is set to premiere on October 21, 2025.

The move is significant, as Netflix Originals rarely get physical releases, especially in 4K. Read on for more details about how you can pre-order, what it offers, and why it is worth watching in improved quality.

As mentioned, Season 2 is releasing on October 21, 2025, in formats such as Standard Blu-ray, 4K UHD, limited-edition Steelbook, and 4K UHD Collector’s Edition, all accessible via GKIDS. While one can still stream Arcane on Netflix in 4K with a premium plan, the physical 4K UHD will provide a higher bitrate version for improved quality. It also includes bonus features similar to the Collector’s Edition. It comes with long-term ownership unaffected by any streaming rights.

Along with this, two exclusive Steelbook designs are available. First is the Vi & Caitlyn Edition, which features some dynamic artwork of the beloved duo. It comes with a price of $42.99 on GKIDS and $59.98 on Amazon. Another is the Jinx & Ekko Edition, which highlights the rivalry and history between the two standout characters, available at similar prices on Amazon and GKIDS.

Each Steelbook edition comes packed with three discs covering all nine episodes of Arcane Season 2, therefore offering over three hours of bonus content. This includes “Inside the Writer’s Room,” which offers a deep dive into story construction. It also features “Artist Breakdowns,” spotlighting 14 Fortiche artists—the studio behind Arcane’s stunning animation. Additionally, “Music Videos” includes hits like Ma Meilleure Ennemie. “Storyboards & Animatics” give viewers a peek into the creative process. “Art Gallery” is another category that showcases conceptual art, designs, and visual evolution.

Why is it worth watching Arcane in a 4K Blu-ray UHD release?

The show has been hailed as one of the best video game adaptations ever. The animated show delves into the same world, offering complex narrative and character arcs. With its striking animation, powerful storytelling, and huge fanbase, this release is a collector’s dream—especially ahead of the highly anticipated second season.

Unlike traditional Netflix Originals, Riot Games is the mind behind the production of the show. The animation is done by Fortiche Productions, giving it greater flexibility for physical distribution. Netflix is the distributor, not the sole owner, which is why we’re getting this rare and detailed release.

This move by Netflix also suggests that if Arcane sells well—like the Stranger Things limited edition—it could influence future decisions. The platform might consider doing the same with its top shows. Pre-order now to secure your preferred edition before they sell out, especially since Season 1’s Steelbook was a limited run and highly sought after.
